The Act of Faith 1

Shalom! This is how the prayer of faith works. This is the principle that even Jesus worked with while He was here on earth:

Mark 11: 24
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

1. You must desire something. You must have a picture of what you want God to provide for you. There must be something you hope to have - something you're eager for, eg, forgiveness of sins; healing of sicknesses and diseases; provision of material things; Holy Spirit baptism; spiritual gifts; anointing; wisdom and so on.

2. Ask God, your Father, for it in Jesus' name. Jesus says, "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:23-24).

3. Believe in your HEART THAT YOU RECIEVE WHAT YOU ASKED FOR WHEN YOU PRAYED (Mark 11: 24). This is where you either win or lose out. What you believe and say at this point, and afterwards, determines what you get or don't get. Jesus says, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive" (Matthew 21:22). You must call those things which be not as though they were so that they'll become. Then, thank God for the answer.

4. If you believe and speak right, your answer will come. What you say must match what you believe. This is not a game. It's real. Our God can do anything. God bless you as you continue to study todays lesson and start using it to get things done in your life. It's all going to be according to your faith.

Time Element in Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There is an element of time involved in the principle of faith. Misunderstanding this important element will cause a failure of faith. The Bible says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). When should one take the step of faith? (Now!) Paul said, "Now faith is . . . the evidence of things not seen". When you are standing by faith, what you're believing God for is neither seen nor felt. You're just standing in faith for it - calling those things which be not as though they were. If you've asked God for a car, by faith you say, 'I believe that I have my car now.' This is neither pretence nor a lie. You really must believe this way. You don't have to see it first or feel it before you believe it. Faith's Place
