Faith must always have an objective. It doesn't just stay there. One
definition of faith is trust. Bible faith then is talking about
trusting God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
One important truth is that the Almighty Father really want you to
have all the good things you need and the good things that you want.
Jesus puts it this way: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one
that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that
knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his
son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he
give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good
gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in
heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (Matthew 7:7-11).
This is enough assurance for me that I can get from God whatever good
thing I ask of Him.
Now let's look at this from another scripture: "And in that day ye
shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye
shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have
ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy
may be full" (John 16:23-24). Jesus wants you to ask God for whatever
good thing you so desire. What do you really want?
What you need to do is to keep focussing on the things Jesus said
other than what people are saying. When you have your needs met, it's
you that gets the joy!
We will really get into this in the next post. God bless.
