The Healing Presence #4

Taking a close look at our main text in this series of lessons, as I said in one of the lessons, there's a lot of things to share about the Holy Spirit in it. The Bible says, "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you" (Romans 8:11).

I want to open up your mind to an important and startling realisation, and that is: the Holy Spirit can accomplish a lot of astonishing things in your life. The Holy Spirit's power is flowing thru your body, and it can accomplish a lot of things. For instance, see what He did with Evangelist Phillip in the desert, "And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing" (Acts 8:39). The Holy Spirit made him to dematerialise in the desert (right before the Ethiopian Eunuch) and materialise far away in Azotus.

The power of the Holy Spirit that will heal you, make your body to be full of life, can also cause you to disappear from one place and then appear in another. Just imagine it, your bones, nerves, all the entire organs in your body, and your clothes suddenly vanishes, completely disappears from where you are, and then show up somewhere else. No wonder Elijah could not be found when they were looking for him: "And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth" (1 Kings 18:12). In other words, some times in the past, when they were told where Elijah was, getting there, he had disappeared. That is the kind of power at work in you - the same one that raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

Hope, And Then Have Faith in God!

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There is a clear difference between hope and faith. Hope cannot achieve anything without faith, and faith has nothing to recieve without hope. Hope expects and faith recieves. One of hope's definition is 'eager yearning'. Hope dreams and will keep you smiling, but achieve nothing more than that. Hope is a picture of the things you want to have. Faith, on the other hand, does not expect anything. It is a reciever. Faith takes the unrealities of hope and brings them into the realm of reality. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11: 1). It's just as if hope has been there waiting and achieving nothing untill faith arrived and grabbed hope and bring into reality what hope dreamt about. Now listen up, faith doesn't just come. Faith is produced through the knowledge of the Word of God that you've repeatedly heard (Romans 10: 17). Many times you don't have to hear God...

The Holy Spirit Moves 4

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! The works of the Holy Spirit varies, no one knows it all. But it's so exciting when one finds out about them. I was part of the Faith Clinic team that travelled with Dr. I. K. U. Ibeneme to minister at a campmeeting, December 1985. It was a deliverance session with the church on the outskirt of Lagos State. Our method of ministry was to ask individuals what problem they have, and we minister accordingly. After I had prayed with several people, it came to the turn of a brother. I went thru the normal process of our ministration and he stuttered and said, 'I am a stammerer'. I was flabbergasted because at that moment I didn't know what to do. But I just said, 'In Jesus' name, I plead the blood. Be healed!' and I took off to another place. During the testimony time, the brother said in very clear words, 'You know me. . . ' and the place became wild with excitement and shouts of 'Hallelujah!' rended the air!...

The Holy Spirit Moves 5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! One major lesson that I began to learn as a born-again Christian is the subject of faith, and I am still learning it after 24years. I found out that if a Christian is ignorant of this subject, he will lead a lopsided life. Things will be very difficult for him in this life. The Bible says, "The just shall live by his faith" (Habakuk 2: 4). God works with those who have learnt and are living and walking by faith. The Bible says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11: 6). So faith is a must for those that would walk with God. In Mark 11: 22-24, the Bible says, "And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
