The Holy Spirit

Good day to you. Today, I'll be travelling to Port Harcourt for a 4 day Holy Ghost Meeting. So I won't be able to conclude the teaching on the Holy Spirit Baptism untill I return from the journey. But I will continue with the primary topic:

The Personality Of The Holy Spirit
By Revd 'Remi Tejumola

A human being is a person. An angel is a person. The Holy Spirit also is a person. But what sort of person is the Holy Spirit? Peter, when he was dealing with Ananias in Acts 5:3-4, called Him God. Then in Romans 11:29, the apostle Paul showed us that it is God who calls people and give gifts to them. Then we see in Acts 13:2, the Holy Spirit saying, “Separate Me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them”. That to a great extent shows us that the Holy Spirit is of a higher personality to both the human beings and angels. The Bible shows us that He occupies a very great position in life with the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ.
What the Bible tells us about His attributes declare something to us. In Psalm 139:7-11, the Bible shows us that He is omnipresent – present everywhere. In Psalm 104:30 the Bible tells us that He was involved in the creation of the world (Gen 1:2), I Corinthians 2:10-11 shows that He is omniscient – He is all–knowing (He knows everything). Then in Luke 1:35 we are shown that He is omnipotent – all-powerful. He can do anything.
To show us that the Holy Spirit is a very important and distinct person from both the Father and Himself, Jesus said in Matthew 12:31-32 “Wherefore I say unto you. All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word, against the son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but WHOSEOVER SPEAKETH AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT IT SHALL NOT BE FORGIVEN HIM, NEITHER IN THIS WORLD, NEITHER IN THE WORLD TO COME.“ You see, the Holy Spirit is not an angel, neither is He a man. You could also see from this scripture that He is quite different from the Lord Jesus Christ in personality. You will almost think that the Holy Spirit is greater and superior to Jesus. However, He is not. Let us see how Mark in his own Gospel account share the same thing Matthew shared about the Holy Spirit which Jesus said, “Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewithsoever they shall blaspheme. But HE THAT SHALL BLASPHEME AGAINST THE HOLY GHOST HATH NEVER FORGIVENESS, but is in DANGER OF ETERNAL DAMNATION” (Mark 8:28-29). This is a strong warning from the Lord Jesus Christ that you’re not permitted to treat the Holy Spirit anyhow. You must be cautious and reverent towards Him because He is God.
When Jesus was introducing Him to His disciples the right before His crucifixion, He said, “Even the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive” (John 14:17). The world in this context is referring to everyone who has not received Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord (John 3:16; 1:12; Roman 10:9, 10; II Corinthians 5:2). The world has to receive Jesus Christ first. Then they will be able to receive the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-39; Acts 2:38; Acts 19:1-7). Receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour makes you to become the temple (the dwelling place) of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 3:16-17) because His blood will cleanse you from all sin (I Peter 1:13-23). The blood of Jesus Christ makes you clean and holy enough for the Holy Spirit to come and dwell and live in you. Without the blood of Jesus, He will never come into any man - no matter how religious the man or woman may be.
From all that I have shared with you so far, you will now realize that when God says in Genesis 1:26 “LET US make man in OUR IMAGE, and in OUR LIKENESS”, the Holy Spirit was included in the ‘US’ and ‘OUR’ of God. And so, the Holy Spirit now is proven to be God though different from the Father and the Son. And according to these scriptures (John 7:38-39; 14:16; 16:7; Acts 2:1-4), the Holy Spirit is the only member of the Godhead that is on the earth right now until the day that the rapture will take place (II Thess. 4:18).

A Soldier Gone To Headquaters

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! A senior friend just went home to be with the Lord, PASTOR PATRICK EZEKUDE OBAZE. He was aged 78 years old. I got to know him in 1985 after I became a part of the Faith Clinic which was founded by Rev. (Dr.) I.K.U. Ibeneme of blessed memory. Uncle 'Bobo' Obaze, as was fondly called by Dr. Ibeneme, was one of the numerous workers that the Faith Clinic had in those days in the mid-80s. All the workers came from different churches and ministries, and were of various ages and giftings. In spite of his age, He was simple and humble. He was easy to get along with, and very kind. He loved Jesus and was as excited about Him as anyone of us was who were much younger than he was. Like other workers of the ministry he was involved in deliverance ministrations. He often traveled with Dr. Ibeneme for outside ministrations. He also had a special love to minister the Holy Ghost baptism. He had great success in this area of ministry. I know it because I was a...

Re-visiting Faith #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! One can spend a whole lifetime studying the subject of faith and one will continue to learn so many sides that are involved therein. Let's look at our main text again: Hebrews 11: 6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Diligence is an attribute and attitude of faith. There is a kind of seriousness that is attached to the Bible kind of faith which is why God demands diligence in the seeker. The dictionary defines the word "diligence" as "careful and conscientious" and the word "careful" as "paying close attention". The word "conscientious" is defined "been diligent with one's work" . I don't think this can be overly emphasised since it is the very basis and fabric of our relationship with the Most High God. You can just imagine why this faith business ...

All Consuming Desire #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour really gave us the definition of faith in Mark 11:23-24. He showed us exactly what we need to do. So everytime we take the faith stand, what we believe matters. We can't say after we've prayed the prayer of faith, "I am expecting such and such from God." To do that is to get out of faith which will abort our prayer. You must believe that you have recieved what you asked for in prayer WHEN YOU PRAY, and then it will manifest. But if you want to wait untill you see it manifest, you will never get to see it. This is where B.U.S.H. comes in. Believe you have recieved Untill Something Happens (untill it manifest). Once you believe you have recieved, stay put in that mode - regardless of how you feel or what you've not seen or felt. Just believe it's done for you already. That's what will cause the manifestation! Jesus said, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, ...
