The Revelation Gifts:

The gifts of the Spirit are so called because they are manifested [by the Holy Spirit] through people as Paul said in 1 Corinthians 12:8: “For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge ...”

These gifts manifest so frequently in some people’s lives that it is almost as if they can operate them at will. Even though these gifts manifest frequently through those people, it is still the Holy Spirit who initiates the manifestation of the gifts as He wills.

I was a member of a Christian fellowship in the College of Education, inside the Wesley College compound at Elekuro, Ibadan, for some months. In that fellowship, there was a sister that God used frequently in the gift of prophecy. Also, in the ministry where I grew up as a born-again Christian [The Faith Clinic], there were some sisters and brothers that were consistently used in the revelation gifts. Some of these people stood in the ministry office of the prophet, so these gifts manifested in them frequently. Of course, nobody should claim he is a prophet without having been called by God into that office and without having the revelation gifts manifesting in his life and ministry consistently. On the other hand, you must not claim to be a prophet just because these revelation gifts manifest in your life. You will surely get into deep trouble if you do. You see, you don’t assume a ministerial office by your own choice. You have to be called by God into that ministry office and spiritually equipped to fill it. The same is true concerning every other area of the ministry (Hebrews 5:4).

The revelation gifts reveal the Omniscient and Omnipresent qualities of the Holy Spirit to us.
All of the nine spiritual gifts reveal to us the entire scope, extent or range of the power and the ability of God the Holy Spirit. Discovering all these will help you understand fully the reason why the Holy Spirit is God and the great resources there are present in Him for you to tap into.
This teaching is not an introduction to the personality of the Holy Spirit, but an exposé on the make-up of the Holy Spirit, an analysis of His power.

As we begin to examine the depth and height, the length and breadth of His mighty power, remember that the Holy Spirit is a real person who is always present with you.

The Word of Wisdom

The gift of the word of wisdom is a supernatural manifestation of the Holy Spirit which gives a man insight into the future or reveals the future to him. Through this gift, the Holy Spirit gives information by speaking or showing the individual a fragmentary part of His knowledge about the future.

This gift shows us that the Holy Spirit sees and knows the future. He knows all that will ever happen. The Holy Spirit knows what is in the mind of the Almighty Father pertaining to the future – the Father’s plan for the entire universe. The Bible says, “...for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10-11).

God gave King Solomon a gift of wisdom, but this was not the gift of the word of wisdom mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. The wisdom Solomon had, gave him the ability to discern judgement as he ruled the people of Israel, the people of God (1 Kings 3:9). Unlike the word of wisdom, however, it did not enable him to see into the future. A person who has the gift of the word of wisdom may not even be wise like Solomon (2 Chronicles 1:7-12). We have the book of Proverbs and the book of Ecclesiastes as a result of the wisdom God gave Solomon. Both the wisdom Solomon had and the word of wisdom are very important. No wisdom from God should be despised.

If you have the kind of wisdom that Solomon had you will be able to handle the affairs of life wisely. You can easily see that the wisdom of Solomon was not the revelation gift of the word of wisdom.

All the gifts of the Spirit manifest as the Holy Spirit wills. The gift of the word of wisdom will, therefore, only manifest as the Spirit wills. The wisdom that God gave Solomon was resident in him and was part of him so that he could make use of that wisdom anytime he needed to. He did not have this wisdom until God visited him and said to him, “Ask what I shall give thee” (2 Chronicles 1:7). He, therefore, asked God to give him wisdom and knowledge so that he could go out and come in before the people of God to judge them (2 Chronicles 1:10).

This wisdom is yours for the asking. You can believe God for it. The Bible actually encourages you to ask God for wisdom if you feel you need it (James 1:5-6). [...to be continued]

My newest book, The Reality of the Holy Spirit, is still in writing. I can honestly tell you that you have a lot coming your way in this book. A lot of questions are going to be answered.

A Soldier Gone To Headquaters

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! A senior friend just went home to be with the Lord, PASTOR PATRICK EZEKUDE OBAZE. He was aged 78 years old. I got to know him in 1985 after I became a part of the Faith Clinic which was founded by Rev. (Dr.) I.K.U. Ibeneme of blessed memory. Uncle 'Bobo' Obaze, as was fondly called by Dr. Ibeneme, was one of the numerous workers that the Faith Clinic had in those days in the mid-80s. All the workers came from different churches and ministries, and were of various ages and giftings. In spite of his age, He was simple and humble. He was easy to get along with, and very kind. He loved Jesus and was as excited about Him as anyone of us was who were much younger than he was. Like other workers of the ministry he was involved in deliverance ministrations. He often traveled with Dr. Ibeneme for outside ministrations. He also had a special love to minister the Holy Ghost baptism. He had great success in this area of ministry. I know it because I was a

Re-visiting Faith #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! One can spend a whole lifetime studying the subject of faith and one will continue to learn so many sides that are involved therein. Let's look at our main text again: Hebrews 11: 6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Diligence is an attribute and attitude of faith. There is a kind of seriousness that is attached to the Bible kind of faith which is why God demands diligence in the seeker. The dictionary defines the word "diligence" as "careful and conscientious" and the word "careful" as "paying close attention". The word "conscientious" is defined "been diligent with one's work" . I don't think this can be overly emphasised since it is the very basis and fabric of our relationship with the Most High God. You can just imagine why this faith business

All Consuming Desire #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour really gave us the definition of faith in Mark 11:23-24. He showed us exactly what we need to do. So everytime we take the faith stand, what we believe matters. We can't say after we've prayed the prayer of faith, "I am expecting such and such from God." To do that is to get out of faith which will abort our prayer. You must believe that you have recieved what you asked for in prayer WHEN YOU PRAY, and then it will manifest. But if you want to wait untill you see it manifest, you will never get to see it. This is where B.U.S.H. comes in. Believe you have recieved Untill Something Happens (untill it manifest). Once you believe you have recieved, stay put in that mode - regardless of how you feel or what you've not seen or felt. Just believe it's done for you already. That's what will cause the manifestation! Jesus said, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
