Living For Heaven

You can't go to heaven behaving like hell. This phrase did not originate from me even though I rephrased it. It came from a Gospel album with this title, 'You can't get to heaven looking like hell'. I have forgotten who the Singer was, but the message is clear.

The kind of life you're leading now, is it portraying a life of one on the way to heaven? You need to know that there are criteria by which a person will be able to enter into heaven.

Number 1, Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3). You must surrender your life to Jesus for this to happen to you. You must be born again - experience a transformation of life.

Since people don't get born-again and immediately get translated to heaven, number 2 is, "LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart" (Psalm 15:1-2). While you are here on earth, you need to walk uprightly, work righteousness, and be a truthful person. You give your life to Jesus first and then live the kind of life that's expected of you as a child of God - a holy life. It's not your righteous life that saved you, it's Jesus. But you need to lead a good life, a morally upright life - a life that's pleasing to God here on earth. When you do that, you will be able to get to heaven. God bless.

Time Element in Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There is an element of time involved in the principle of faith. Misunderstanding this important element will cause a failure of faith. The Bible says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). When should one take the step of faith? (Now!) Paul said, "Now faith is . . . the evidence of things not seen". When you are standing by faith, what you're believing God for is neither seen nor felt. You're just standing in faith for it - calling those things which be not as though they were. If you've asked God for a car, by faith you say, 'I believe that I have my car now.' This is neither pretence nor a lie. You really must believe this way. You don't have to see it first or feel it before you believe it. Faith's Place
