Shalom!
"I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him" (Psalm 89:20).
This was God talking about King David of Israel, the great Psalmist. God said that He found and anointed him. To me, this meant that when God was looking for someone He found David. David was not God's first choice when He chose Saul to be king. No, Saul was His first choice. Of cause when Saul was consecrated king, David was still probably a baby. David was a replacement king of Israel and a man with the right kind of attitude. Even at that, He was chosen by God and God found Him to be the kind of man He liked.
I want you to understand that anyone else could also have been 'a man after God's heart'. However when God finds a person, He depends on that person to carry out His will and purpose.
After one man studied the Bible through from Genesis to Revelation, he concluded that God must have been partial to have used a few men throughout the Bible. He did not know that God preferred to use everyone, but He was only able to find a few.
I've found out that God is always looking for whom He would send, "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me" (Isaiah 6:8). This is why God celebrates those who responds positively. He anoints and bless them greatly.
Have you heard His invitation or call? Will you respond to God's calling? It's up to you.
Today, when you hear His call, say, 'Lord, here I am. Send me.'
God bless.
