Shalom! There is a kind of attitude that will be evident when someone is taking a faith stand.
The whole of the first chapter of the first book of Samuel was about Prophet Samuel's would be parents, most especially, Hannah.
Hannah was barren for several years. As if that was not enough, the second wife had kids and was tormenting her untill she went to Shiloh and prayed about her situation. Notice her attitude after praying:
1 Samuel 1: 17-18
17 Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.
18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.
Anytime you really prayed in faith your attitude and countenance will change. Whatever you suspended due to the sorrow about your circumstance, you will start doing again because now you believe that God has wiped off your tears.
It was Hannah's attitude that got my attention, but it could've been about any other thing and not just barreness - ANYTHING.
Q: When should one stand by faith for a need?
A: The moment you prayed and afterwards, untill the manifestation of what you believed for.
Q: What should you believe when you pray?
A: You should believe that you recieve WHAT you prayed for WHEN YOU PRAY. It doesn't really matter what it is you want.
Whether or not you get results with your prayers depends on you, not on God. What you believe when YOU PRAY determines what YOU GET. SHALOM!
