Faith & Patience

Shalom! Focussing on the subject of faith could save lives. I know people need to know and understand the subject as much as possible. Let's look over a few Bible passages:

Habakuk 2: 4
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

The just or the righteous one shall live by faith. This is talking about you as a Christian. You can only live by faith - faith in the Word of God.

A question is asked, 'How long do I have to wait when I am standing in faith for something?' The answer is, AS LONG AS NECESSARY. Just make sure you're doing what God told you to do in His Word. But don't be waiting, thinking, WHEN WILL GOD DO THIS THING, IT'S TAKING TOO LONG A TIME!' If you're thinking this way you have negated your faith because you're supposed to have believed you recieved what you asked for when you prayed. If you are standing in faith, you will not be in haste. Check out the latter part of the next verse:


Isaiah 28: 16
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

The Good News Bible renders the same verse this way, '... the faith that is firm is also patient'. Don't allow yourself to get into a rush when you're standing in faith. Why? God is never late, and He won't be late. The Bible says, "For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise" (Hebrews 10: 36). If you're really persuaded that God will come through for you, come hell, come high water, you'll be patient and then, because of such an attitude, God will make sure you have whatever it is you believed Him for. Glory!

Time Element in Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There is an element of time involved in the principle of faith. Misunderstanding this important element will cause a failure of faith. The Bible says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). When should one take the step of faith? (Now!) Paul said, "Now faith is . . . the evidence of things not seen". When you are standing by faith, what you're believing God for is neither seen nor felt. You're just standing in faith for it - calling those things which be not as though they were. If you've asked God for a car, by faith you say, 'I believe that I have my car now.' This is neither pretence nor a lie. You really must believe this way. You don't have to see it first or feel it before you believe it. In fact, we do not need to look for any sign or hear a voice to know our prayers are heard. Once we pray, God wants us to believe that the need is met NOW WHE...

Hope, And Then Have Faith in God!

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There is a clear difference between hope and faith. Hope cannot achieve anything without faith, and faith has nothing to recieve without hope. Hope expects and faith recieves. One of hope's definition is 'eager yearning'. Hope dreams and will keep you smiling, but achieve nothing more than that. Hope is a picture of the things you want to have. Faith, on the other hand, does not expect anything. It is a reciever. Faith takes the unrealities of hope and brings them into the realm of reality. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11: 1). It's just as if hope has been there waiting and achieving nothing untill faith arrived and grabbed hope and bring into reality what hope dreamt about. Now listen up, faith doesn't just come. Faith is produced through the knowledge of the Word of God that you've repeatedly heard (Romans 10: 17). Many times you don't have to hear God...
