Lessons From The Book of Chronicles 5

Shalom! Having God's endorsement is a very honourable thing for any man (or woman). I understand that you don't just get that - it's not cheap. If God told men not to put their trust in men, you can be sure that if there are people whom He trusts, they must have earned it. Now let's see such a man:

2 Chronicles 7: 1-2
1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.
2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house.

Solomon must have earned God's endorsement for His fire to have come down on his sacrifice and His glory to have filled the house Solomon built unto His name. You see, not every king in Israel enjoyed such endorsement from God. Baal's prophets too didn't get anything like that when they had an encounter with God's prophet by the name, Elijah, on Mount Carmel. God was the God that answered by fire.

Please live in such a way that will attract God's endorsement. It is the highest honour any man can have - to have God endorsing you.

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! One major lesson that I began to learn as a born-again Christian is the subject of faith, and I am still learning it after 24years. I found out that if a Christian is ignorant of this subject, he will lead a lopsided life. Things will be very difficult for him in this life. The Bible says, "The just shall live by his faith" (Habakuk 2: 4). God works with those who have learnt and are living and walking by faith. The Bible says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11: 6). So faith is a must for those that would walk with God. In Mark 11: 22-24, the Bible says, "And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. Your Exposure Matters

Whether you realise it or not, you are influenced and your life is directed in the direction of the kind of mindset that you have, which is largely influenced by the kind of knowledge that you have. What you know and what you're ignorant of affect your life. The kind of Pastor you listen to, and the kind of church you attend affects you. The kind of books, tapes, videos and the kind of friends you keep affects your life. Make no mistake about it, you are what you eat. Jesus puts it this way, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh" (Luke 6:45).
