Shalom! In the early days of the Nation of Israel, on their land, to be a king was not a small thing. Kings were handpicked by God. It wasn't a democratic choice. But whether or not they were chosen by God, only a few of all of Israel's kings walked closely with God. To then have a godly king was a great thing, moreso to have a king that gets honours from God.
2 Chronicles 7: 3
3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
It is an awesome thing for me to see the power of the Holy Spirit manifests in a minister's life and ministry.
I was there in June 1988 when the Archbishop Benson Idahosa blessed two students who came to visit with him from the then University of Ife. The two of them crumpled on the floor under the power of God and were carried off the altar. It was really awesome. Such sights always move me. I really treasure such things.
The choice of having power with God is always a personal thing, and anyone can have it with Him if they so chose.
I have seen the power of God in my meetings, and I've also learnt that it's not exclusively reserved for any one person. It depends on what you want and how close to God you want to be. Peter, James and John were the closest disciples to Jesus. John used to sleep on his bosom. How close you want to be is up to you.
Till next posting, God bless.
