Shalom! I wish you a Merry Christmas and a most fulfilling new year 2010. The Holy Ghost Miracle Service will take place on Tuesday 29th of December at St. Annes Church, Molete, Ibadan from 5pm till around 8.30pm. If you can make it, you will be blessed.
Todays lesson is about King Jehosaphat of Judah, and King Ahab of Israel. Jehosaphat had a close relationship with God, but Ahab didn't. Ahab had his prophets and God had one. King Jehosaphat will only look out for a prophet of the Lord.
2 Chronicles 18: 11
11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
This 'prophetic word from the Lord' was spoken by Ahab's prophets. But, bless God, God's prophet had another Word for the backslidden king:
2 Chronicles 18: 16
16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.
This Word meant Ahab would lose his life in that battle. King Ahab knew he wasn't in good stead with God. Instead of getting back to God in repentance, he got the prophet of God arrested and imprisoned. God's prophet left him a Word before he went for the war against Syria:
2 Chronicles 18: 27
27 And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.
Ahab did not return. He died a shameful death. Always do God's will, always take side with God. When you're wrong, you're wrong and you should repent and go back to God. It's dangerous to have God against you. It can cost you your life.
Till next posting, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU.
