Re-visiting Faith #4

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola

Shalom! Faith has a way of bringing the scriptures into reality in our lives. Let's look into a familiar verse in the Bible. It's familiar only to those who are studious:

Philemon 1: 6
6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

There are a lot of things that Jesus has provided for us through His sacrificial death, resurrection and glorification. The provisions are there, but will not become a reality in our lives untill,

1. We find out what they are in the Bible; and,

2. Untill we believe them; and,

3. We communicate them by faith.

People likes it when things are easy to do. I am one of them. But things don't really work like that in God's kingdom. The Bible tells Christians, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15).

God expects us to study His Word so that we can rightly divide it. For pastors, to rightly divide means to teach it subjectically, and that's true.

Primarily, it means to rightly apply it to your life. But you have to study it, and then do what Philemon said - communicate it.

How do we do that? By acknowledging every good thing that is in us which we discovered while studying the Word. The Bible says that we're more than conquerors and I affirm it and say, "According to the Word of God, I've been made more than a conqueror!" I believe it, confessed it, and it becomes real in my life. I studied further and learnt that by His stripes I was healed, and confessed it, healing becomes a reality in my life. As many discoveries as you made, and confessed will become manifest realities in your life.

Till next posting, God bless.

A Soldier Gone To Headquaters

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! A senior friend just went home to be with the Lord, PASTOR PATRICK EZEKUDE OBAZE. He was aged 78 years old. I got to know him in 1985 after I became a part of the Faith Clinic which was founded by Rev. (Dr.) I.K.U. Ibeneme of blessed memory. Uncle 'Bobo' Obaze, as was fondly called by Dr. Ibeneme, was one of the numerous workers that the Faith Clinic had in those days in the mid-80s. All the workers came from different churches and ministries, and were of various ages and giftings. In spite of his age, He was simple and humble. He was easy to get along with, and very kind. He loved Jesus and was as excited about Him as anyone of us was who were much younger than he was. Like other workers of the ministry he was involved in deliverance ministrations. He often traveled with Dr. Ibeneme for outside ministrations. He also had a special love to minister the Holy Ghost baptism. He had great success in this area of ministry. I know it because I was a...

The Holy Spirit Moves 4

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! The works of the Holy Spirit varies, no one knows it all. But it's so exciting when one finds out about them. I was part of the Faith Clinic team that travelled with Dr. I. K. U. Ibeneme to minister at a campmeeting, December 1985. It was a deliverance session with the church on the outskirt of Lagos State. Our method of ministry was to ask individuals what problem they have, and we minister accordingly. After I had prayed with several people, it came to the turn of a brother. I went thru the normal process of our ministration and he stuttered and said, 'I am a stammerer'. I was flabbergasted because at that moment I didn't know what to do. But I just said, 'In Jesus' name, I plead the blood. Be healed!' and I took off to another place. During the testimony time, the brother said in very clear words, 'You know me. . . ' and the place became wild with excitement and shouts of 'Hallelujah!' rended the air!...

Faith and the Will of God

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Where exactly in the prayer of faith can we find the will of God? The will of God means what GOD expects, requires and demands, to be done by you. Paul said in his epistle to the Hebrew Christians, "... ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise" (Hebrews 10:36). It is after you've done the will of God that YOU will experience the fulfillment of the promise. The will of God for you when using Mark 11: 24 is that part where Jesus said, "... when ye pray, believe that you recieve them ..." . Once you miss this part, you would have wasted your time and prayer. The will of God in this verse deals with, 1. The time of your prayer WHEN YOU PRAY, and, 2. What you believe when YOU PRAY. The other important thing about your prayer life that goes with the matter of the will of God has to do with your life. You must be a person of godly character. You must fear God and treat other peo...
