Re-visiting Faith #6

Shalom! Whatever is going on around you shouldn't distract you from what the Word of God has always told us about God's demands and commandments. We really need to be very careful with the kinds of lives we're leading.

Let's see what God said in the book of Jeremiah in addition to His demand in Hebrew 11: 6.

Jeremiah 29: 11-13
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

The first thing about the Bible kind of faith is relationship with God. Jesus puts it this way, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33).

I know we have needs and God is more than willing to have those needs met. He has infact made the provisions of those things, and you won't get them untill you put first things first - a holy lifestyle before God and man.

God says, "Be ye holy; for I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16). God requires holiness from us. Let's give it to Him. Let's reverence Him so that those other things we need will fall into their rightful places in our lives.

The faith message is actually a holiness message. With faith we please God and with holiness we see Him. The Bible says, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God" (Hebrews 12: 14).

Time Element in Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There is an element of time involved in the principle of faith. Misunderstanding this important element will cause a failure of faith. The Bible says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). When should one take the step of faith? (Now!) Paul said, "Now faith is . . . the evidence of things not seen". When you are standing by faith, what you're believing God for is neither seen nor felt. You're just standing in faith for it - calling those things which be not as though they were. If you've asked God for a car, by faith you say, 'I believe that I have my car now.' This is neither pretence nor a lie. You really must believe this way. You don't have to see it first or feel it before you believe it. A Soldier Gone To Headquaters

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! A senior friend just went home to be with the Lord, PASTOR PATRICK EZEKUDE OBAZE. He was aged 78 years old. I got to know him in 1985 after I became a part of the Faith Clinic which was founded by Rev. (Dr.) I.K.U. Ibeneme of blessed memory. Uncle 'Bobo' Obaze, as was fondly called by Dr. Ibeneme, was one of the numerous workers that the Faith Clinic had in those days in the mid-80s. All the workers came from different churches and ministries, and were of various ages and giftings. In spite of his age, He was simple and humble. He was easy to get along with, and very kind.
