Time-Out with God

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola

Shalom! Jesus gave us the second commandment, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" (Matthew 22:39).

The first commandment is for us to love God with all that we've got, and the second one commands us to love our neighbour. This second commandment came from the One we loved with everything in us.

Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15).

Our obedience to the two God-given commandments proves that we truly love Him.

Each one of us should create time to spend in God's presence and fellowship with Him on a regular and daily basis. I believe that is the best kind of prayer there is - fellowshiping with the Almighty God.

To many people, having a prayer life meant asking God for what you need and for what you want. To them, that's about all they care for. They don't think about having time-out with God, or time-out with Jesus, or time-out with the Holy Spirit.

Here I am talking about time you spend having conversations with, and worshipping any or all the members of the triune Godhead.

Have you ever had such a time when you're not asking God for things, but just praising, worshipping and loving on Him? You should start doing it one of these days - like today. You may experience something like this:

Exodus 24: 10
10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

Moses, Aaron and 70 of the elders of Israel, some of their nobles with their children were there when God revealed His presence. It was a time of fellowship. Go and do likewise.

The second commandment instruct us to love our neighbour. It means caring for them and also spending time with them. It is like saying, Time-out with your neighbour. This speaks also about friendliness.

Till next posting, God bless.

A Soldier Gone To Headquaters

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! A senior friend just went home to be with the Lord, PASTOR PATRICK EZEKUDE OBAZE. He was aged 78 years old. I got to know him in 1985 after I became a part of the Faith Clinic which was founded by Rev. (Dr.) I.K.U. Ibeneme of blessed memory. Uncle 'Bobo' Obaze, as was fondly called by Dr. Ibeneme, was one of the numerous workers that the Faith Clinic had in those days in the mid-80s. All the workers came from different churches and ministries, and were of various ages and giftings. In spite of his age, He was simple and humble. He was easy to get along with, and very kind. He loved Jesus and was as excited about Him as anyone of us was who were much younger than he was. Like other workers of the ministry he was involved in deliverance ministrations. He often traveled with Dr. Ibeneme for outside ministrations. He also had a special love to minister the Holy Ghost baptism. He had great success in this area of ministry. I know it because I was a...

Re-visiting Faith #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! One can spend a whole lifetime studying the subject of faith and one will continue to learn so many sides that are involved therein. Let's look at our main text again: Hebrews 11: 6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Diligence is an attribute and attitude of faith. There is a kind of seriousness that is attached to the Bible kind of faith which is why God demands diligence in the seeker. The dictionary defines the word "diligence" as "careful and conscientious" and the word "careful" as "paying close attention". The word "conscientious" is defined "been diligent with one's work" . I don't think this can be overly emphasised since it is the very basis and fabric of our relationship with the Most High God. You can just imagine why this faith business ...

All Consuming Desire #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour really gave us the definition of faith in Mark 11:23-24. He showed us exactly what we need to do. So everytime we take the faith stand, what we believe matters. We can't say after we've prayed the prayer of faith, "I am expecting such and such from God." To do that is to get out of faith which will abort our prayer. You must believe that you have recieved what you asked for in prayer WHEN YOU PRAY, and then it will manifest. But if you want to wait untill you see it manifest, you will never get to see it. This is where B.U.S.H. comes in. Believe you have recieved Untill Something Happens (untill it manifest). Once you believe you have recieved, stay put in that mode - regardless of how you feel or what you've not seen or felt. Just believe it's done for you already. That's what will cause the manifestation! Jesus said, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, ...
