Heaven

Shalom! When people want to travel on a long trip they make long preparation. They always endeavor to make sure before hand that they have all that they will have need of while they are away.

Are you making plans for your heavenly trip? If not yet, when are you going to start? Time is going, and it will not wait for anyone.

The Bible tells us how to get ready.

1. You will have to be pure and keep yourself pure, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure" (1 John 3:2-3).

2. Lead a life of obedience to the Word of God: "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie" (Revelation 22:14-15).

Heaven is a real place that any sane person will love to be. Jesus describes it this way, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" (John 14:2-3). The Father's house indicates heaven where God lives.

Will you like to to go there? It's meant for you as you do the will of God here on earth.

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! One major lesson that I began to learn as a born-again Christian is the subject of faith, and I am still learning it after 24years. I found out that if a Christian is ignorant of this subject, he will lead a lopsided life. Things will be very difficult for him in this life. The Bible says, "The just shall live by his faith" (Habakuk 2: 4). God works with those who have learnt and are living and walking by faith. The Bible says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11: 6). So faith is a must for those that would walk with God. In Mark 11: 22-24, the Bible says, "And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. Your Exposure Matters

Whether you realise it or not, you are influenced and your life is directed in the direction of the kind of mindset that you have, which is largely influenced by the kind of knowledge that you have. What you know and what you're ignorant of affect your life. The kind of Pastor you listen to, and the kind of church you attend affects you. The kind of books, tapes, videos and the kind of friends you keep affects your life. Make no mistake about it, you are what you eat. Jesus puts it this way, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh" (Luke 6:45).
