Marks of a Committed Christian #1

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola

Shalom! Committed Christian have traits or marks. It's something beyond going regularly to church.

A few weeks back I treated a subject about God's will, and then went further to teach about the Process of Divine Change. The teaching today is a follow-up to those. So come along with me.

The Apostle Paul in Romans 12:1 said, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

The life of a committed Christian is strewn with periods of deeper commitments. The very first commitment comes as a revelation of Christ our saviour comes to him. So he commits himself to that One who died and rose again for his sake. Because of this revelation, he relates with people whom he perceived has had the same experience with Jesus with real agape love.

He's so happy to have been saved from so great a death that he will do anything for Jesus. When evangelism is introduced to him, he launches right into it. He doesn't even have any idea nor understand what spiritual maturity is.

As he spends quality time in the Word of God, he begins to mature in the Lord, and as he mixes with other Christians, he'll begin to see the weaknesses of both of others and those of himself. He finds himself wanton in a lot of areas, and so make deeper commitments to Jesus from time to time.

At other times what called for deeper commitments is the lessons learnt from the Word through personal studies and through Bible Studies or Seminars in church that enlightens some vital areas of his life. These equally attracts deeper commitments from him.

What I have been calling commitments are actually consecrations to Jesus. I will talk more about this in my next post. Till then, God bless.

A Soldier Gone To Headquaters

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! A senior friend just went home to be with the Lord, PASTOR PATRICK EZEKUDE OBAZE. He was aged 78 years old. I got to know him in 1985 after I became a part of the Faith Clinic which was founded by Rev. (Dr.) I.K.U. Ibeneme of blessed memory. Uncle 'Bobo' Obaze, as was fondly called by Dr. Ibeneme, was one of the numerous workers that the Faith Clinic had in those days in the mid-80s. All the workers came from different churches and ministries, and were of various ages and giftings. In spite of his age, He was simple and humble. He was easy to get along with, and very kind. He loved Jesus and was as excited about Him as anyone of us was who were much younger than he was. Like other workers of the ministry he was involved in deliverance ministrations. He often traveled with Dr. Ibeneme for outside ministrations. He also had a special love to minister the Holy Ghost baptism. He had great success in this area of ministry. I know it because I was a...

Re-visiting Faith #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! One can spend a whole lifetime studying the subject of faith and one will continue to learn so many sides that are involved therein. Let's look at our main text again: Hebrews 11: 6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Diligence is an attribute and attitude of faith. There is a kind of seriousness that is attached to the Bible kind of faith which is why God demands diligence in the seeker. The dictionary defines the word "diligence" as "careful and conscientious" and the word "careful" as "paying close attention". The word "conscientious" is defined "been diligent with one's work" . I don't think this can be overly emphasised since it is the very basis and fabric of our relationship with the Most High God. You can just imagine why this faith business ...

All Consuming Desire #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour really gave us the definition of faith in Mark 11:23-24. He showed us exactly what we need to do. So everytime we take the faith stand, what we believe matters. We can't say after we've prayed the prayer of faith, "I am expecting such and such from God." To do that is to get out of faith which will abort our prayer. You must believe that you have recieved what you asked for in prayer WHEN YOU PRAY, and then it will manifest. But if you want to wait untill you see it manifest, you will never get to see it. This is where B.U.S.H. comes in. Believe you have recieved Untill Something Happens (untill it manifest). Once you believe you have recieved, stay put in that mode - regardless of how you feel or what you've not seen or felt. Just believe it's done for you already. That's what will cause the manifestation! Jesus said, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, ...
