The Bible says, "And he [Jesus] said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover" (Mark 16:15-18).
When the Gospel is preached, the signs will follow. Notice these were Jesus words as He gave us the great commission. In the same chapter the Gospel is referred to as the Word: "And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen" (Mark 16:20).
The Holy Spirit works with those who preach the Gospel (the Word). And He does it with signs which includes, deliverance, Holy Spirit baptism with speaking in tongues, divine protection and divine healing.
I used the Word deliverance on purpose because some believers and pastors hate to hear it. But that's what Jesus our Lord and Saviour meant when He said, "In my name shall they cast out devils..." (Mark 16:17).
But why would any believer stand against this aspect of the great commission? Because he needs deliverance himself.
You don't just walk up to anyone to cast out devils. The person must be someone you have preached the Word to, and in the process of hearing the Word preached, began to manifest symptoms of demonic presence, then you cast it out in Jesus name!
In short, deliverance is ministered to believers whether or not he is a new believer. (Those who know they need deliverance know they need it, no matter what others say or preach.) Jesus was not mincing words. He meant exactly what He said. This is why I am so bold about this.
Till next posting, God bless.
