.::The Two Kinds of Peace::.

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola

Jesus said in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

There's the peace the world gives, and there's one available to all believers in Jesus - two kinds of peace.

Due to knowledge I understand certain facts:

1. Peace in your community many times is dependent on the level of security arrangement you have set up there.

2. The same is true regarding your city, and your state, your country.

3. Your home/house is peaceful mostly due to the kind or kinds of security you have in your there.

4. World peace, so far, is dependent on guns, bullets, bombs, missiles, war planes, submarines and nuclear weapons.

When you know and understand this, you will not fight against your government who is reinforcing the security of your country by buying more powerful weapons. These are the ways that we get to enjoy the kind of peace we have living in this world. In short, you are able to sleep because someone/some people are awake as your security to keep watch while you sleep and do other things.

But thank God, His kind of peace which Jesus gives goes far beyond what the world can give. In the 127th Psalms we have been given access to higher protection and security that doesn't depend on physical weapons. When we get established in covenant with the Almighty God we will have peace in our lives that even in the midst of war we are protected.

A sister who lived in the Middle-East years ago during war had this testimony: In the midst of flying bullets, exploding bombs, schrapnels and debris with people dying all around her, she would go home to her bed to sleep soundly as if there is no war. When she was asked, 'Sister, aren't you afraid you could get hurt or killed?' She said, One day when I was studying the Bible, I read where the Bible says, "He that keepeth Israel neither slumbers, nor sleep" (Psalms 121:4). I thought to myself, 'God is my Keeper, He neither slumbers, nor sleep. Then there's no use for the two of US to stay awake!' She never did get hurt or killed. God protected her. She had peace in the midst of the storm of war!

The Bible describes the peace of God this way: "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Phillipians 4:7). It's the same kind of peace you can have during your journeys. The same thing you can enjoy in environments where crime and violence is the order of the day. When you asked God for protection, and you trust Him to do it, you are safe. You can only approach God through the name of Jesus. You should establish a relationship with Him.

Let me share few relevant Bible verses to clinch this message for you:

Psalms 91:1-16 ESV
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place- the Most High, who is my refuge-
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 "Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."

Let's read it from the Good News Bible: "Whoever goes to the LORD for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, can say to him, "You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in you I trust." He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases. He will cover you with his wings; you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you. You need not fear any dangers at night or sudden attacks during the day or the plagues that strike in the dark or the evils that kill in daylight.

A thousand may fall dead beside you, ten thousand all around you, but you will not be harmed. You will look and see how the wicked are punished.

You have made the LORD your defender, the Most High your protector,
and so no disaster will strike you, no violence will come near your home.
God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go.
They will hold you up with their hands to keep you from hurting your feet on the stones.
You will trample down lions and snakes, fierce lions and poisonous snakes.

God says, "I will save those who love me and will protect those who acknowledge me as LORD. When they call to me, I will answer them; when they are in trouble, I will be with them. I will rescue them and honor them. I will reward them with long life; I will save them." (Psalm 91:1-16 GNT).

Psalms 127:1-2
1 A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

You can try and beef up your security as much as can, but if God isn't protecting you, you are in a mess. (I know this very well).

Lastly, the Apostle Paul says, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

You can be very certain of receiving the peace of God. It is available for all who will take advantage of it through Jesus Christ our Lord.

May you have a year, 2013, filled with the peace of God.

Happy New Year to You!

A Soldier Gone To Headquaters

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! A senior friend just went home to be with the Lord, PASTOR PATRICK EZEKUDE OBAZE. He was aged 78 years old. I got to know him in 1985 after I became a part of the Faith Clinic which was founded by Rev. (Dr.) I.K.U. Ibeneme of blessed memory. Uncle 'Bobo' Obaze, as was fondly called by Dr. Ibeneme, was one of the numerous workers that the Faith Clinic had in those days in the mid-80s. All the workers came from different churches and ministries, and were of various ages and giftings. In spite of his age, He was simple and humble. He was easy to get along with, and very kind. He loved Jesus and was as excited about Him as anyone of us was who were much younger than he was. Like other workers of the ministry he was involved in deliverance ministrations. He often traveled with Dr. Ibeneme for outside ministrations. He also had a special love to minister the Holy Ghost baptism. He had great success in this area of ministry. I know it because I was a...

Re-visiting Faith #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! One can spend a whole lifetime studying the subject of faith and one will continue to learn so many sides that are involved therein. Let's look at our main text again: Hebrews 11: 6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Diligence is an attribute and attitude of faith. There is a kind of seriousness that is attached to the Bible kind of faith which is why God demands diligence in the seeker. The dictionary defines the word "diligence" as "careful and conscientious" and the word "careful" as "paying close attention". The word "conscientious" is defined "been diligent with one's work" . I don't think this can be overly emphasised since it is the very basis and fabric of our relationship with the Most High God. You can just imagine why this faith business ...

All Consuming Desire #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour really gave us the definition of faith in Mark 11:23-24. He showed us exactly what we need to do. So everytime we take the faith stand, what we believe matters. We can't say after we've prayed the prayer of faith, "I am expecting such and such from God." To do that is to get out of faith which will abort our prayer. You must believe that you have recieved what you asked for in prayer WHEN YOU PRAY, and then it will manifest. But if you want to wait untill you see it manifest, you will never get to see it. This is where B.U.S.H. comes in. Believe you have recieved Untill Something Happens (untill it manifest). Once you believe you have recieved, stay put in that mode - regardless of how you feel or what you've not seen or felt. Just believe it's done for you already. That's what will cause the manifestation! Jesus said, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, ...
