The Act of Faith 4

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Jesus did something that shocked all His disciples. When they were followed by a very large crowd of people for 3days to a deserted place, He asked them to feed the crowd of over 5000 people. They were aghast! The Bible says, "He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat? He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes" (Mark 6:37-38). Jesus showed us from this real life event that as His followers we should be masters of our situations and circumstances. Let's see another passage: Luke 8: 23-25 23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. 24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: an

The Act of Faith 3

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! ". . . faith without works is dead" (James 2:20). For any faith adventurer, the above truth must always be remembered. For faith to be what it is, there must be a corresponding act. Faith in your heart without a corresponding physical action and confession of faith, there would be no positive result. It doesn't really matter how bad you wanted it. God wants you to trust Him to come through for you. He has never disappointed anyone. That's a great track record. When you prayed for what you desire to have, Jesus says, ". . . believe that you recieve them, and you SHALL HAVE THEM. Believing that you recieve them comes before physical HAVING THEM. When you prayed the prayer of faith, it means that you believe you recieved what you asked for WHEN YOU PRAYED. You prayed to be healed and you believe that you're healed before the actual healing took place. Take note of this: IT IS WHEN YOU TAKE A STAND LIKE THIS THAT WILL ENSURE THA

The Act of Faith 2

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Faith is a producer. It is a tool by which things gets done in the Kingdom of God. It is like a computer software through which some things are done. Faith is the factory where miracles are produced. John 6: 8-9 8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, 9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? 10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. As a man of faith, Jesus knew what God is able to do in response to His faith. The Bible-kind-of faith is all about us, through our faith in God, getting Him to do things for us. Our faith is actually in God who always backs up His Word with might

The Act of Faith 1

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! This is how the prayer of faith works. This is the principle that even Jesus worked with while He was here on earth: Mark 11: 24 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 1. You must desire something . You must have a picture of what you want God to provide for you. There must be something you hope to have - something you're eager for, eg, forgiveness of sins; healing of sicknesses and diseases; provision of material things; Holy Spirit baptism; spiritual gifts; anointing; wisdom and so on. 2. Ask God, your Father, for it in Jesus' name . Jesus says, "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:23-24). 3. Believe in your HEART THAT YOU RECIEVE WHAT

The Key of Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There is a key that makes prayer work, and it's right there in that verse in the Gospel of Mark. In fact, this truth runs through most of the books of the New Testament. The Bible says, James 5: 15 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up. Jesus says, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24). Right here in this verse is what you must do so that your prayer will work. Jesus said that you must believe you recieve WHEN YOU PRAY, and then you will get it. This means that you must believe your need is met and given to you while obviously you have not physically seen it. When YOU do this, then you'll see it come to pass. Faith brings it to you. Peter did not wait for any physical evidence before climbing down into the sea, and HE WALKED ON IT! This is what is called faith. Matthew 14: 29-30 29 And he sai

The Importance of Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! If ever you discover any negative symptom in your body, your first response should be to lay your hand on the spot and command, 'In the name of Jesus, whatever is wrong with my body, be healed right now!' The Bible says, "And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up" (James 5:15). Your knowledge and understanding regarding this kind of prayer determines whether or not you get healed of your infirmities. Since this constitute a matter of life or death for you, I think it's really important for you to know and understand how it works. Jesus clearly taught us this principle in His Word. He said, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24). Every prayer of faith can be likened to the attempt Peter made to walk on water at the invitation of Jesus. The prayer of faith is always based on the Word of God

The Importance of Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Why are people's needs unmet even though they have prayed so much about them? Or is it that God select whose prayer to answer and whose to ignore? Or is it that people concerned have not prayed long enough? God doesn't select prayers, but we select which prayer God should answer by our attitude to His Word. Some people believe that how much time they spend praying determines the outcome of their prayers. This I know, our prayers are important to God and He has made provisions on how to get those needs met. Mark 11: 24 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Most time it's not that people don't pray long enough, but that they didn't pray according to the way the Word of God instructed us to do it. Excuse me, there is a how to pray about different needs. Most times when people pray they do it hoping God heard, when they are supposed to be certain t

The Importance of Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Jesus said to the fig tree, "No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it" (Mark 11:14). He was very definite with His words. He didn't even shout. He spoke as if He was holding conversation with the fig tree, and what He said came to pass. In Mark 11: 23, Jesus said, "He shall have whatsoever he saith". Whatever you say with faith will come to pass. A couple of years ago, a man with crippled legs, on a wheelchair, attended a healing meeting. He's been to several like that and recieved nothing. But on this occasion, the Spirit of God led the man of God to call him out, and instruct him to call his own crippled legs STRAIGHT! He hesitated untill the man of God began to bombard him with that instruction, 'CALL YOUR LEGS STRAIGHT! repeatedly. After a while, the man said, 'I CALL MY LEGS STRAIGHT!' and the power of God hit him and his leg became straight. The Bible says about God, "(A

The Importance of Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Jesus said, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth" (Mark 9:23). Then also, He said, "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith" (Mark 11:23). On several occasions, when people in need of miracles got to Jesus, He would say to them, "According to your faith be it unto you" (Matthew 9:29). He never told anyone, 'According to MY POWER'. No! It's always ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH! The realm of faith is a realm of possibilities - a realm where you can get whatever it is you have faith for, a realm where all your dreams can come true. Please, I'm not talking about a religious kind of faith that just says, 'I have faith in Jesus' in response to the question, '

The Believers' Authority: My Adventures 2

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Great day to you. Hope you've been good in every sense of the word. Walking with God is not so much above what I've been talking about all these time I've been talking about the Believers' Authority. There are just a few more things that'll complete the picture, such as: hearing from God and following His instruction per time, one day at a time, doing His will. I bought a glass bottle of Olive Oil a number of years ago. On my way home the neck of the bottle got broken. So I bought a plastic bottle to transfer it into. As I began to pour the oil into the new bottle, a bit of the oil spilled on to my finger and the power of God flowed from there all over me. Suddenly I strongly felt like going to see an elderly man of God with the oil. When I got to his house, he exclaimed, 'You're the son of your Father!' I told him that I was led to come and pray with him. He said he was seriously thinking about me when I showed up. I a

The Believers' Authority: My Adventures 1

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Here is a big lesson for you, especially if you're yet to learn it: at least 99% of the miraculous things Jesus did are not exclusive to Him. Matthew 14: 25 25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. Jesus showed us this truth in the above passage when He eventually allowed Peter, at his request to walk on the sea with Him. But get this: Peter walked on the sea by his own faith just like Jesus did with His. Jesus said to that man and to us, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth" (Mark 9:23). All things are possible to Him who has faith. One day while ministering deliverance to a man at the Faith Clinic, the demon in him spoke up and said, "God has been trying to bless this man, but we've been hindering him from recieving." I just said, "Therefore, I open the windows of heaven and take a bucket of blessings, and pour it now on him" (actually dem

The Believers' Authority 13

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Whether you're praying or exercising authority or simply speaking, there is a standard spiritual procedure on how to do it by faith. Jesus, in Mark 11: 23-24 says, "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24). What God requires of you when you pray is to believe that what you asked for you have recieved, WHEN YOU PRAYED. The same thing is expected of you when YOU exercise authority. Consider the thing done as you've commanded. If you don't do it this way, you will wait all your life for a result that will never come just because you wanted to use a physical manifestation of what you

The Believers' Authority 12

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! The Bible says, "And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it" (Mark 11:13-14). All that Jesus did was speak to the fig tree and His disciples heard what He said. What Jesus spoke to the tree came to pass during His absence. As far as Jesus was concerned, what He said came to pass the moment He said it. That's faith. The major thing about faith is that you have to say it. But what should you say in faith? (What you want to come to pass.) As you boldly declare your faith, it will come to pass. That's why Jesus said, "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe

The Believers' Authority 11

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Each born-again Christian is clothed royally because he is God's child. Imagine this, the Maker of heaven and earth is your Father - the Creator of the universe is your Dad. This is Jesus status and it is yours as well. Now let's check out how to exercise your authority. Mark 11: 24 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Jesus just gave us a principle on how to use our faith. You see, faith is never based on what you see or feel. It is based on the Word of God. Mark 11: 24 can be applied in at least 3 different ways: 1. You can use it while praying to God; 2. You can make use of it when you want to speak to a mountain that you're confronted with; 3. You can use it to speak your everyday language in a way that will affect your life positively. What do you want to accomplish with your authority? Cast out devils or destroy their works against you? Note th

The Believers' Authority 10

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Where are we operating our authority from, what is our spiritual position of authority? This is a vital question which must be answered now. And the answer is found in the epistle of Paul to the Ephesians: Ephesians 2: 4-6 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved; 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. God's mercy made us alive together with Jesus, raised us up together with Him, and made us sit together with Him in heavenly places. Our position as believers in Christ is with Jesus in heavenly places far above all principalities and powers. We're seated where Christ sits. It doesn't really matter how long ago it was when anyone of us got born-again. This one is an automatic placement by our heavenly Father because of His love for us. Even though we were a

The Believers' Authority 9

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! The nature of our authority over devils is such that we believers in Christ Jesus can bind the evil spirits, and stop or even destroy their evil works through the use of the name of Jesus. Satan and his evil spirits or demons are our real enemies , not human beings. Since he's the one responsible for the evil works that men do, we can break his influence over them through prayer, intercession and the use of our authority in the name of Jesus (Ephesians 6: 10-18). Acts 16-18 16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: 17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. 18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hou

The Believers' Authority 8

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Great peace be unto you. I hope you're really following me on our subject. It could be the meaning between life and death for anyone. A female secondary school teacher got born-again, delivered from evil spirits and got baptised in the Holy Spirit in our meeting with the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International ( FGBMFI) Benin Chapter , Benin City, in February 1988. Her name was Tonia Okolie . The devil took advantage of her ignorance and prevented her from speaking in other tongues anytime she's on her own. But when she's with other believers, she'd be able to speak in tongues without any difficulty. This really bothered her. So she came to see me for help. I took her through every scripture I could recall about her authority over the devil and all his evil spirit cohorts and taught her how to use it. When she returned home on her own, she literally felt the hands of those demons holding her mouth so she will not be ab

The Believers' Authority 7

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! You need to understand this: Faith is the mode of operation in the Kingdom of God. If you have anything wrong with your body, you must learn how to use your authority by faith so that you can be healed. Some people outrightly don't believe in this act of God for various reasons, one of which is that there are people they know who have tried using faith when they had physical challenges and ended up dying because somehow their faith failed them or they know people who have tried to believe God for things, telling others regarding what they were attempting to do by faith and still didn't recieve anything. I know that people have experienced these things. I also know about those who prayed for things and got them. I am one of them. I know from experience that you can mis-apply the Word of God in such a way that it won't work for you. If you make a mistake in applying God's Word, it won't work. This is the reason why you must look over

The Believers' Authority 6

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Boldness to act is an important ingredient of the exercise of spiritual authority. Without boldness, having authority will just be like someone with a chieftancy title or an honorary degree. It will be of no use having it. It is no more than a decoration. To be bold mean, to be courageous and brave . You have to have an attitude of daring to do things - you have to be adventurous, like Peter when he walked on water with Jesus, and also when he got that cripple healed at the beautiful gate. Later Peter dared to raise the dead and he did (Acts 9: 36-42). Boldness to do what you know the Word of God asked you to do - boldness to act on your faith. That's what I'm talking about. Without it, you will not get anywhere spiritually. But, thank God, you can ask Him to give you boldness and He will give it to you. Read this verse and see what God said to us: Ephesians 3: 20 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask o

The Believers' Authority 5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Greetings to you and your family in Jesus name. I hope you weren't disturbed by the message in my last posting. You need to understand that there's a place where you present your needs to God in prayer and there also is that place where you have to take charge of things in your life - a place where God works with your decisions to take care of you. For God to help you with the issues of your life, there's that place where you need to take bold steps to stand upon the Word of God. Many times untill you do this your needs remain unmet. Jesus said, "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it" (John 14:13-14). In this Bible passage Jesus was not talking about praying to God, but you using His name to cause things to happen. Please understand the truth that everything the person of Jesus can do can also be achieved through the

The Believers' Authority 4

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! God loves you, and the devil hates you perfectly. You need to know and understand this truth for your own sake and of those that are close to you. Talking about God, the Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). The Bible also says about the devil, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world" (1 Peter 5:8-9). You have to understand that God is not behind your problems. He is the One who made provision for the solutions to all your problems through His Son, Jesus Christ. You have been given the authority to deal severely with the works of the devil in your life and in those of others. Matthew 18: 18-19 18 Veri

The Believers' Authority 3

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Just yesterday I was with the JOY Fellowship at their Camp Retreat holding at the St. Annes' Anglican church , Molete, Ibadan. It was a Holy Spirit Miracle Service and God's presence was wonderfully manifested. There were some healings and other wonderful things that God did. Some youths, about 11 of them gave their lives to Christ. A sister requested for prayer to recieve the help of the Holy Spirit and she fell under His power as the anointing came upon her outside the auditorium, after the programme. It was an awesome meeting. Glory be to God! The day prior to this meeting, I began a series of teaching on ' How to recognise the leading of the Holy Spirit' at the All Souls' Church at Old Bodija Estate, Ibadan. The teaching will run throughout this month, every Wednesday by 11am. The Believers' Authority 3 There are certain things which the individual believer in Christ is authorised to do as he goes out witnessing for Ch

The Believers' Authority 2

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There are so many lessons for all us to learn as Christians - so many lessons. This cannot be over-emphasized. I will draw some lessons from Jesus and other servants of God from both during the Bible days and from our present day. Jesus exercised divine authority over life and evil spirits during His earthly ministry. He walked on water, turned water to wine, fed 5000 men with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes. Joshua stopped the sun and moon from going down so he could lead Israel to victory at war. Moses, at God's instruction, separated the red sea so that Israel could walk through it on dry ground. Peter raised the dead back to life. Paul cast out demons from people. Matthew 14: 23-26 23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. 24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25 And in the fourth watch of the
