Lessons From The Book Of Chronicles 8

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! What could happen that can cause you to pronounce that a particular day is the best in your life? Untill it happen, you can't even guess. King Solomon had a day like that. Let's see it: 2 Chronicles 1: 6-10 6 And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it. 7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. 8 And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead. 9 Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great? If God ever offer you a blank cheque like this, what will you fill into it? Thin

Lessons From The Book Of Chronicles 7

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Talking about King Amaziah of Israel, the Bible says, "Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart " (2 Chronicles 25: 1-2). I want you to understand that this record of what God saw concerning King Amaziah could only have been gotten through the revelation given by the Holy Spirit. Notice that the Bible says, "... he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart" . I tell you, this beats me. If Amaziah could do this then, people today can do the same thing. He did what was right before God with a wrong motive . (This kind of thing couldn't have been seen by human beings; but God saw it). When you claim to be doing something for God, even when man cannot see your heart, God sees it. I w

Lessons From The Book of Chronicles 6

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! In the early days of the Nation of Israel, on their land, to be a king was not a small thing. Kings were handpicked by God. It wasn't a democratic choice. But whether or not they were chosen by God, only a few of all of Israel's kings walked closely with God. To then have a godly king was a great thing, moreso to have a king that gets honours from God. 2 Chronicles 7: 3 3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. It is an awesome thing for me to see the power of the Holy Spirit manifests in a minister's life and ministry. I was there in June 1988 when the Archbishop Benson Idahosa blessed two students who came to visit with him from the then University of Ife. The two of them crumpled on the floor under the power

Lessons From The Book of Chronicles 5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Having God's endorsement is a very honourable thing for any man (or woman). I understand that you don't just get that - it's not cheap. If God told men not to put their trust in men, you can be sure that if there are people whom He trusts, they must have earned it. Now let's see such a man: 2 Chronicles 7: 1-2 1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. 2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house. Solomon must have earned God's endorsement for His fire to have come down on his sacrifice and His glory to have filled the house Solomon built unto His name. You see, not every king in Israel enjoyed such endorsement from God. Baal's prophets too didn't get anything like that when they had an encounter with God's proph

Lessons From the Book of Chronicles 4

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! What actually did King Uzziah do that cost him the help of God which he had enjoyed for so many years? The Bible says, "But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction" (2 Chronicles 26: 16), that is, when he became full of himself (meaning: when his successes got to his head), he transgressed against God. What was the transgression? Let's see what the transgression was: 2 Chronicles 26: 18 18 And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God. One of the things that you should be aware of is that God works with rules. The earlier you realise this, the better for you. There are things God meant for just you, and there are things meant just for others to do. As long a

Lessons From the Book of Chronicles 3

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There's one theme that ran around the life and reign of King Uzziah in Israel: He recieved help from God. He got this help for such a long time because he sought the Lord for the same length of time. But the time came when he became full of himself and he lost the divine help. 2 Chronicles 26: 16 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense. What God has not ordered for, you don't just offer to Him. Also, stay always only in the area of your calling and giftings. Never intrude into things you're not qualified for. King Uzziah was celebrated by God and the people of Israel. But when he took upon himself a position he was not cut out for, God judged him severely: 2 Chronicles 26: 17 17 And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men

Lessons From The Book of Chronicles 2

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! You can be involved with any kind of good work on earth, and God could cause you to prosper if you're someone who seeks the Lord. The Bible says again, "And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper" (2 Chronicles 26:5). Anyone can seek the Lord. The Teacher can seek the Lord as well as the Engineer, Doctor, Banker, Secretary, State Governor, Head of Nations, Farmers, Musicians, Petty Traders, Broadcasters and so on, and as long as they seek the Lord, He will cause them to prosper. Psalm 1 says, "But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper" (Psalm 1:2-3). Meditating on the Word of God is a strong and definite

Lessons From the Book of Chronicles 1

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! For years I have thought of making use of some of the lessons from the book of Chronicles to teach whosoever is interested. Here it is: "And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper" (2 Chronicles 26:5). The last two phrases is my text, '... as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper' . Do you want to prosper? Are you interested in doing well in life? If you are interested, do you know what is meant by seeking the Lord? Don't worry I'll spell it out for you now. 1. Seeking the Lord means praying and spending time in God's presence in order to know Him. 2. Spending time in God's Word in order to know His will about everything you want to do. 3. It also mean that you don't take God for granted, but you seek God's face regarding every issue of your life in order for Him to give you direction. 4. See

Keys to a Strong Anointed Ministry

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! I'm sharing with you today about what I consider as the keys to a strong anointed ministry. The Bible says, "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers" (Ephesians 4:11). For a minister of the Gospel, the first key is that he must find out his area of ministry and be certain about it. After ascertaining your area of ministry, the second thing you must do is to find out from God what you're to do with the ministry, and where? The third important key is to find out how your ministry is to be conducted. The fourth key is the easiest of all; carry out the ministry that you have recieved of the Lord - making sure you follow the heavenly vision that God gave you. The fifth key is you should always give glory to God for everything He's used you to do, before, during and afterwards. Everyone's area of ministry is unique. No one else has it like you do. Many times the only re

The Latter House Glory

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Haggai 2: 9 9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts. God was actually talking about the temple been re-built unto His name in Jerusalem. He said the glory of this latter house shall be greater than the former. But this is also describing God's programme for the Church. By the time Jesus return for His Church, she will be in that place where the power of the Holy Spirit will be in the most glorious manifestation. God planned to leave the best till last. This is why He said the glory of the latter house will be greater than of the former. The Church launched out in great power in Acts 2, and that power has been on the increase ever since, even though it seemed to wane sometime when God's people gets distracted with sin and several other earthly things. We thank God for His mercy and loving-kindness. He is still redirecting His peo

Close to Glory 2010 (Ministry Update)

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! The theme of my ministry for 2010 is Close to Glory! Of course, we will be close to glory because for one thing Jesus may come back for us next year, if by the end of this year He hasn't come. This does not mean that I am predicting that Jesus will come next year. No, I just want us to be conscious of the fact that He will appear without a particular prior notice. On the other hand we are going to see greater manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit in our meetings. The Bible says, "The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts" (Haggai 2: 9). In a normal course of things, the scale of the manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit should be increasing on a daily basis untill the very last day. But due to human nature and decisions, the scale has been going up and down since inception, and that's changing! Our programme

Dynamic Scriptures 13

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! After Jesus taught His disciples what is known in Christians circles as the Lord's prayer, He said further, "But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:15). I have heard a lot of people said this, "When I get to Jesus, that's when I will settle with that man. But while I'm here, I will never forgive him. He's done me a very great evil." They didn't realise that anyone that will not forgive other people's tresspasses will not reach heaven at all. So train yourself to lead a kind of life that's ready to forgive people's offences, even before they ask for your forgiveness. Jesus said, "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God" (Matthew 6: 7-8). The ability to forgive is an attribute of the Christians' agape love - the God-kind of love which has been shed abroad

Dynamic Scriptures 12

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! The forth reason why we need to pray is that if we do not pray God cannot do anything on earth because He has given man dominion over the earth. Genesis 1: 26 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. The authority to rule over the earth has been delegated to man. If God wants to do anything here, He will have to go through His man. Also when things go wrong on the earth, if man required God to intervene, he will have to invite Him into the earth through prayer. But right after God gave man dominion, man sold out to satan and he became the god of this world using man's God-given authority - although not god over the Christian. He has been defeated by Jesus. But he now rules over the children of disobedience. If we want God to do anything

Dynamic Scriptures 11

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Have you ever wondered why God wanted us to pray in tongues or even pray at all. The Bible tells us some of them in the following verses: 1 Corinthians 14: 2 2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. Romans 8: 26-27 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. The first reason why God wants us to pray and speak with tongues is for us to communicate with Him supernaturally. But why an unknown language? Because there are things God wants to keep as secrets (for our own benefit) which He sometimes reveal to us, but most times is best we don't

Dynamic Scriptures 10

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! What you believe when you pray and afterwards matter. What you believe determines whether or not you ever get hold of what you desired of God. Whenever you pray and ask God for anything, God wants you to believe that you have recieved whatever it is you asked for. If you asked God for a cat, believe you have recieved the cat and you will get it. Notice He didn't say you should believe that God is going to bring it, but that you have received it, and you have it now by faith. This is when results come. But if after praying, and you didn't see any difference, you then say, 'I don't think my prayer is answered' , you have just aborted your own prayer. As soon as Jesus cursed the fig tree, He turned around and went His own way. He didn't bother to wait and see whether any change has occurred, "And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it" (Mark 11:14). You c

Dynamic Scriptures 9

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Following up on the last posting, I want to spend more time on the word 'desire' . Right now I am relating it to prayer, especially where Jesus used the word in Mark 11: 24, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24). "What things so ever ye desire ..." means that you need to be very specific when you say you want God to do anything for you. As I explained in my last post, your desire is a hot pursuit for something and will not accept "No" for an answer. So you better get specific. Many years ago when Pastor Victor Amosun was courting his wife, he found out that her family house was plagued with mice. Specifically, he ordered that the place be rid of all mice and the next time he was in that house it was reported that was the last time that they saw any mouse. Learn to be specific. At the least, God wanted you to be. H

Dynamic Scriptures 8

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! When you have real thirst, hunger and desire for anything, that's when there'll be a pursuit for that thing. The reason is that true thirst, hunger and desire will never take 'No' for an answer. Give a man who is thirsty for water something else and he will still be looking for water. David said, "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary" (Psalm 63:1-2). He was thirsty for God's power and glory. Haven't you wondered why not many of Israel's kings had fire coming down from heaven upon their sacrifices to God? It wasn't something peculiar to Prophet Elijah. David and Solomon had heaven honoring their sacrifices. Relationship with God and obedience to His Word were the keys. They had the heart that sought after God and to know Him. They

Dynamic Scriptures 7

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! "And in the sixth year [of the captivity of King Jehoiachin], in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house [a captive of the Babylonians] with the elders of Judah sitting before me, the hand of the Lord God fell there upon me. Then I beheld, and lo, a likeness of a Man with the appearance of fire; from His waist downward He was like fire, and from His waist upward He had the appearance of brightness like gleaming bronze. And He put the form of a hand and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heavens and brought me in the visions of God... " (Ezekiel 8: 1-3 Amp). The above Bible passage became one of the most interesting verses to me when I read it from the Amplified Bible. What was interesting was the fact that the Holy Spirit revealed Himself here to the prophet Ezekiel like a Man. He does have this appearance. He has the form of a Man, although He's not a man. He
