Authority CODE 101

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! During the raining season of 1990, I was taking the Bible Study Fellowship of the Faith Clinic Nigeria on a series of teachings on Ministry Gifts, every Thursday evening. When the rain started, it came on the zinc roof, disturbing us with a great din. This continued for several weeks. One Thursday, I got fed up with the whole thing. There was no P. A. System, so I was talking at the top of my voice to the people. On that day, I determined that it was time to deal with the rain. I taught them how to pray the prayer of faith to deal with the rain based on Mark 11: 24. So we prayed that from the next Thursday till we move to our permanent site the rain should not disturb us again, and we believed that our prayer was answered. From the next Thursday the rain did not disturb us till we move to our own land. The rain would either start and stop before the Bible Study began or start after we shared the benediction. It worked! This is exactly the kind of thi

Authority CODE 101

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! God gave to us a kind of authority that enables us to bind and to loose. Jesus puts it this way, "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 16:19). The word 'bind' here also mean 'forbid', and 'loose' also mean permit' or 'allow'. Whatever we decide is what God will back-up with us. Using Jesus' words, He said, "Whatsoever YOU shall bind ..." and "Whatsoever YOU shall loose ..." . Interpretation: Anything that YOU restrict on earth shall be restricted in heaven. Anything YOU place no restriction on earth, will be allowed by heaven to remain free. Most times when we talk about Binding and Loosening, Christians usually think about it in terms of devils and demons. But Jesus said, 'Whatsoever' . Anything. Anything yo

100 Percent!

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! In 1986, I got to a seminar just after they had the benediction. Knowing that I missed the seminar, I made up my mind that I would still gain something from the venue. So I engaged some of the brothers in a deep scriptural discussion. We went as far as to say that, 'If God were to stop thinking about these grasses and flowers they would die.' Meaning that God is sustaining everything by His power. Suddenly, these words slipped out of my mouth, 'Did you know that it is the same percentage of enjoyment that people in heaven are having there that the people in hell will suffer?' We became speechless for like 5mins. It was a shocking revelation. But it's true. The apostle John said, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" (Revelation 21:4). In His teachings, Jesus taught that

Hope, And Then Have Faith in God!

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There is a clear difference between hope and faith. Hope cannot achieve anything without faith, and faith has nothing to recieve without hope. Hope expects and faith recieves. One of hope's definition is 'eager yearning'. Hope dreams and will keep you smiling, but achieve nothing more than that. Hope is a picture of the things you want to have. Faith, on the other hand, does not expect anything. It is a reciever. Faith takes the unrealities of hope and brings them into the realm of reality. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11: 1). It's just as if hope has been there waiting and achieving nothing untill faith arrived and grabbed hope and bring into reality what hope dreamt about. Now listen up, faith doesn't just come. Faith is produced through the knowledge of the Word of God that you've repeatedly heard (Romans 10: 17). Many times you don't have to hear God&#

Heaven or Hell

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! How long is eternity? This was a question I have asked people many times in the last few years during my programmes with different churches, to which they came up with several definitions, such as: for ever, world without end, infinity, everlasting, world without end, and untill the world comes to an end, etc. Finally I provided what I called the best definition: as long as God lives. That's how long eternity is. Which now brings the next question, Where will you spend eternity? Whether or not you like it, you are going to spend eternity somewhere. Will it be in heaven or will it be in hell? The decision is yours. God will not make this decision for you. It's your call. Jesus puts it like this, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned" (Mark 16:15-16). The matter of your salvation and eternity

Using The Name Of Jesus #3

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! What Jesus Himself will do is the same thing His name will accomplish. Let this statement sink into heart. Example 1 : "And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed" (Matthew 8:2-3). If a lepros person come to you for prayer, do exactly what Jesus did in His name. Say, In the name of Jesus Christ, be thou cleansed! Example 2 : "And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them" (Matthew 8:15). Always follow Jesus example, using His name everytime, and the result will be the same. When you pray for the sick in His name, His name represent Him. You are also representing Jesus to that sick or needy fellow. You becom

Using The Name Of Jesus #2

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Jesus said, "... Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it" (John 14: 13-14). When it comes to prayer, Jesus wants us to talk directly with the Father in His name. He does not want us to pray to Him, Jesus. But here in John 14, He's saying that He will make sure that whatever we ask or demand in His name is done. He will go ahead and perform it. Example 1 : "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God" (Acts 3:6-9). When you command things to be done in t

Using the Name of Jesus #1

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Jesus taught us to pray and to exercise our authority through the use of His name. In each case, what we pray about, and what we use our authority for has to do with our hopes and desires. Let's see: John 16: 23-24 23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. 24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. Notice that Jesus did not tell us what to ask for. His emphasis was on how to get the things that we want from God the Father using His name. Some people have the incorrect idea that when we pray in Jesus name Jesus Himself takes our prayer and re-present it to the Father on our behalf. Let's examine what He said about this point: John 16: 26-27 26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: 27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye

Treasured Possession

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Another one of the very important scriptures in the Bible to me is what I am talking about today. So, listen up! Exodus 19: 5 5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: There are two requirements revealed in this one verse that could mark your life forever, and they are: 1. Obey God's voice. 2. Keep God's covenant. Anyone could decide to do the things God said in this passage. I have learnt that by the time God is requiring something from us He has something special to bring into our lives. In our text today God promised to treat the person who is obedient to Him, and is keeping covenant with Him as a Peculiar Treasure. These two words also mean Treasured Possession. God will treat that person as this even though He owns every thing. I understand very well what God said here. You may come visiting in my house and touch my fur

Faith Alive #1

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! When the subject of faith is studied in-dept it is then that you will understand that to have faith working in you in certain areas of your life will require more than hearing the Word of God (Romans 10: 17). You will have to receive the revelation knowledge of His Word in the particular area of your interest. The Bible tells us, "Now faith is the substance of THINGS hoped for, the EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN" (Hebrews 11: 1). There are certain things existing around that the only way we can know about them if God did not show us by revelation is made known in the Word. The Word becomes the evidence. The Bible tells us that we have angels with us all the time. Since we have this Word it becomes our faith that serves as evidence. When you desire something from God in prayer according to Mark 11: 24, believing that we recieve when we pray becomes the evidence. Let me share a divine secret with you. Sometimes the Holy Spirit has led me to invi

The Redemption Issue

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! What Adam and Eve did in Genesis plunged the world into spiritual darkness: Genesis 3: 6-7 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. What they did gave the devil dominion over man and the whole earth. Every one born into the earth since then is born into sin. But God, because of the love He has for us, created a line through which Jesus now came into the earth to provide redemption for the whole human race. To get Jesus here, God had to draw a line of salvation from Abraham to Israel, from Israel to David, and from David to Jesus. Then from Jesus to the whole human race. Jesus paid the price that set us free from the c

The Devil and the World

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! We are not animals nor are we descendants of monkeys. God made us in His very own image. After creating man, He gave him dominion over all of the earth and every living creature on it. We are not higher animals. We are not animals in any way, form or fashion at all. We are humans. A school of thought believe that we evolved from monkeys. I have wondered since if ever any other monkey had changed to a man since that theory was concocted or compounded. You will hear a scientist saying that a particular something-taurus existed 5million years ago. But life on earth have not even being or existed for up to seven thousand years yet. The existence of man on earth, the existence of animals, birds, fish and all vegetation on earth is not up to seven thousand years yet. There was no form of life on earth before all these things were created. Check your Bible very well. The earth that existed before the Genesis' biblical account of creation had no light, no

Jesus' Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! One of the most amazing scriptures to me, in the whole Bible is this one: Matthew 14: 25-26 25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. Jesus walked on water. He might as well have walked on thin air. It is that amazing to me. I don't know any other exercise that could be this exciting to me - WALKING on THE SEA; sea water! What audacity, what faith! Just think about it for awhile. He walked down the mountain and without stopping continued and walked on the water. Jesus body weight must be that of a regular guy. Yet He walked on the sea. His faith must have been fully developed. Don't be surprised with this statement. Faith in God was not automatic with Him. He spent enough time in the Word of God. He had a revelation of the Word working in Him. It is great to memorize the Word, bu

Heaven

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! When people want to travel on a long trip they make long preparation. They always endeavor to make sure before hand that they have all that they will have need of while they are away. Are you making plans for your heavenly trip? If not yet, when are you going to start? Time is going, and it will not wait for anyone. The Bible tells us how to get ready. 1. You will have to be pure and keep yourself pure, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure" (1 John 3:2-3). 2. Lead a life of obedience to the Word of God: "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters

Health is Important To You

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! In a recent Benny Hinn's This Is Your Day broadcast, he and is personal physician said that in a survey carried out on all religious faiths in the world, it was discovered that people in the Christian faith are the sickest due to improper diet and mal-nourishment. We eat in very unhealthy ways so we get sick. This means that we shouldn't always blame it on the devil. A lot of religion got themselves involved with eating leaves and fruits and other herbal products. They surround themselves with nourishing stuffs, so they are usually living in such a healthy state. Some of them said that they are vegetarians, who will not eat any form of meat. Now I am not asking us to become vegetarians, but rather I want us to borrow a leaf from them and balance up our diet for healthy living. Eat fruits and vegetables much more than those foods that has gone through processing. Eat real orange other than the packaged fruit juice. Don't always go for meatp
