The Cross

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! What is your 'cross'? I heard someone said, 'That's personal to me' , 'Which one is yours?' It has been wrongly taught that the problems we face in life are the crosses that God has called us each to bear else we are not real Christians. But what did Jesus call the cross? Let's hear Him out: Matthew 16: 24-25 24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. In the above passage Jesus did not mean sickness, disease, deformity or any such thing as the cross He wanted people to carry. No, a million times 'No!' The cross of Jesus was not anything like that. His cross was the persecution, the beatings, the denial of Justice and His eventual crucification on the cross at Calvary. Suffering for the sake of righteousness is the c

My Mandate

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! I have felt for a couple of days to share this with you and anyone else that may be reading this: I am an apostolic teacher. My calling is to teach the Word of God around the World in the power of the Holy Ghost with mighty miracles, signs and wonders. Several years ago, about 20years or thereabout, I asked the Lord, 'Upon which scripture am I supposed to base my ministry on?' , immediately this Bible passage came to me, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you : and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen". The emphasis were on these words: 1. Go ye therefore, and TEACH ALL NATIONS ... What? 2. TEACHING THEM to observe all things WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU ... This means that I am to teach on only the topic He wants me to teach (not my own preferenc

Love Thy Neighbour

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Jesus says about Christians, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another" (John 13:35). Love marks and distinguishes you as one who belongs to Jesus. In John 13 Jesus emphasised love among brethren, children of the kingdom. Paul, the Apostle, sums up Jesus words this way, "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto ALL men, ESPECIALLY UNTO THEM who are of the HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH" (Galatians 6:10). You're supposed to be kind and nice to especially the people of the kingdom as well as to extend it to those who are yet to embrace the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ unto salvation. Love identifies you all the time. We are the people that have in our possession the divine kind of love which was shed in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. Love is our identity card by which we are supposed to be known. God has placed within us the potential to love like He does, forgive like He does, do g

The 2nd Commandment

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Jesus gave us this second commandment, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" (Matthew 22:39). It means that you should do to your neighbour what you would do for number one - yourself. How would you like to be treated by others? Treat others that same way. Respect others and be nice to them. Care about the welfare of those around you. Anyone close to you is your neighbour. Your neighbour also is that person in need. If you were badly in need, what kind of wish would you have at the time. ( I would hope that somebody somewhere would just come and bale me out ). So put yourself in a needy person's place. Jesus said, "And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them" (Luke 6:31-32). In other words, don't be choosy when it comes to whom you love. Love everybody and do good to them the way you expecte

Time-Out with God

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Jesus gave us the second commandment, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" (Matthew 22:39). The first commandment is for us to love God with all that we've got, and the second one commands us to love our neighbour. This second commandment came from the One we loved with everything in us. Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). Our obedience to the two God-given commandments proves that we truly love Him. Each one of us should create time to spend in God's presence and fellowship with Him on a regular and daily basis. I believe that is the best kind of prayer there is - fellowshiping with the Almighty God. To many people, having a prayer life meant asking God for what you need and for what you want. To them, that's about all they care for. They don't think about having time-out with God, or time-out with Jesus, or time-out with the Holy Spirit. Here I am talking about time you spend ha

First Thing First

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! What should be the first thing in your life which should form the foundation for your success in life? Jesus puts it this way: Matthew 22: 37-38 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. Today I'm not really here to explain and define it, and then teach you how to go about it. Say these or make these confession with all your heart: I love God, my heavenly Father with all my heart. I love Jesus, Son of God, my Redeemer, Lord and King, my Master and my big Brother. I love the Holy Ghost, my Comforter, my Guide, Teacher, Helper and my Friend. I love the Word of God, the Lamp unto my feet and the Light unto my path - my road-map to a sure future . This are the things Jesus said of those who have left their first love: Revelations 2: 4-5 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Rememb

What to do with Children

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! The Bible teaches parents, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). This indicates that, first, parents must prayerfully find out the will of God for their children's individual life, because how can one show a way that one is oblivious of. I do know that some parents are busy getting their children trained the way THEY (Parents) WANT THEM TO GO. The way they ought to go many times has to do with their God-given giftings, talents and destinies. Parents ought to have these in mind. The most important time to find out God's plan for their lives is when they are still children and unable to make decisions for themselves. Sometimes, finding out the way THEY ought to go requires close observation of those children. When they are still little bitty children you will find out the kind of things they love doing. When you get them toys you will discover which kind of toys the

Re-visiting Faith #7c

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! The Bible definitely declares that as believers we've been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3). According to the Bible, if you are a born-again child of God, God has already blessed you with every spiritual blessing there is. You should quit seeing yourself as someone under a curse. No, you're not under a curse. You are blessed. You need to study the whole of Deuteronomy 28 to find out for yourself the kind of things you should be experiencing under the blessing with which you have been blessed, and the things you shouldn't be experiencing since you're no longer under the curse. By the time you browse through the whole of the 28th chapter of Deuteronomy you will become very excited when you realise the truths I've just shared with you. In addition to the

Re-visiting Faith #7b

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! This was the curse that God placed on man: Genesis 3: 17 17 ... cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life ... The opposite of multiplication is division, the opposite of addition is subtraction, and the opposite of plus is minus. This may sound elementary to you, but you need to put it into consideration. The curses God placed on the man and the woman were reversed in Christ Jesus. I think you ought to be rejoicing right now. The pain of the woman at childbirth was multiplied by the curse and redemption through Christ reversed it. Genesis 3:18-19 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. These also are reversed by redemption through Christ. A born-again child of God is not under a

Re-visiting Faith #7a

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! You do yourself a great disservice when you don't spend time in God's Word. You will not understand and find out how to utilise it in your life situations. Take for instance this Word: Galatians 3: 13 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law ... I learnt early as a child of God that we've been redeemed from the curse of the Law, including the once placed upon both man and woman. I learnt from some Christian sisters who got hold of this truth that the moment they understood this Word, and rebuked their menstrual pain, it left them permanently. When time came and they were ready to deliver their babies, there was no pain! The nurses couldn't believe it! But it was true. (read the Genesis 3 account plus the truth in Galatians 3: 13). I shared this with a sister in 1991 and that was the last time she suffered menstrual pain. If it works for the ladies, BROTHERS, it's time we grab our own! Little effort at work should resu

World State

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! God spoke these words to a minister of His: "The only hope any man ha ve in this world is faith in Jesus Christ," the Son of God. The only hope, not another hope. The signs of the time shows that Jesus will soon be back to take His own away. There are so many kinds of crisis happening all over the world, floods, earthquakes, cold & snow, avalanches, fire and war; sicknesses and diseases, economic breakdown, etc. Things are growing worse, the systems of the world are failing, and the stage is been set for the rule of anti-Christ. Yet, in the midst of all these, there are still a lot of technological advancements. I believe you know how to lead your life in this crooked and perverse world. Just be sensitive and careful wherever you may be or find yourself. Learn to listen for the voice of the Lord. This is highly important because God will give you direction where your safety is concerned if you care enough to listen for it. Just yesterd

Re-visiting Faith #6

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Whatever is going on around you shouldn't distract you from what the Word of God has always told us about God's demands and commandments. We really need to be very careful with the kinds of lives we're leading. Let's see what God said in the book of Jeremiah in addition to His demand in Hebrew 11: 6. Jeremiah 29: 11-13 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. The first thing about the Bible kind of faith is relationship with God. Jesus puts it this way, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). I know we have needs and God is more than willing to have those needs met. He has

Re-visiting Faith #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! One can spend a whole lifetime studying the subject of faith and one will continue to learn so many sides that are involved therein. Let's look at our main text again: Hebrews 11: 6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Diligence is an attribute and attitude of faith. There is a kind of seriousness that is attached to the Bible kind of faith which is why God demands diligence in the seeker. The dictionary defines the word "diligence" as "careful and conscientious" and the word "careful" as "paying close attention". The word "conscientious" is defined "been diligent with one's work" . I don't think this can be overly emphasised since it is the very basis and fabric of our relationship with the Most High God. You can just imagine why this faith business

Re-visiting Faith #4

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Faith has a way of bringing the scriptures into reality in our lives. Let's look into a familiar verse in the Bible. It's familiar only to those who are studious: Philemon 1: 6 6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. There are a lot of things that Jesus has provided for us through His sacrificial death, resurrection and glorification. The provisions are there, but will not become a reality in our lives untill, 1. We find out what they are in the Bible; and, 2. Untill we believe them; and, 3. We communicate them by faith. People likes it when things are easy to do. I am one of them. But things don't really work like that in God's kingdom. The Bible tells Christians, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15). God expects us to study His Word

Re-visiting Faith #3

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! We are looking at a word in our lesson for today, and it is 'cometh' . Hebrews 11: 6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Our first two lessons dealt with how to please God when we come to Him. The word 'come' means 'to arrive' and 'move towards' . In what ways do we come to God which requires faith that brings rewards from Him? 1. Each time we praise and worship God in real faith God responds. His presence will overshadow us. 2. Whenever we get into God's Word in faith, He gives revelation knowledge. 3. Each time we get into prayer to ask for what we desire, and we do it in faith, He causes the answer to come. 4. Whenever we decide to wait upon the Lord, and we do it in faith, God will minister to us. 5. When you go out for evangelism in obedience to the great commission, God's presen

Re-visiting Faith #2

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! There are, today, three important words about faith that I want us to look at. They are the words, impossible, must and diligent. The Bible says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6). When the Word of God says this, it means there's no optional way to please Him. The word 'impossible' means 'not able to occur, exist or be done' . The word 'diligent' means 'careful and conscientious' . This means you can't afford to be rash when you come to God. God rewards those that approach Him with diligence. The word 'must' means 'expressing obligation, insistence, or certainty' . This shows me that there is a strength of character which is required to approach God by faith. Faith is not a weak thing. On the contrary, it is radical. A serious seeker of God w

Re-visiting Faith #1

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Let's revisit the subject of faith today because it's necessary. The Bible says, " Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). It is very important for you to have an understanding of how faith works. Your victory is dependent on this. 1. Faith is a product of the Word of God. The Bible says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). It doesn't come any other way. Hearing the Word of God preached or taught in certain areas builds faith in the hearer along those lines. Faith does not come by prayer, laying on of hands, mantle nor by the anointing oil. It comes by hearing God's Word. When your understanding on the subject is enhanced through hearing the Word, you'll then begin to live by faith. When faith prays, it considers that he has the answer to his prayer before actual sighting. Faith calls things which be not as t

Jesus and You #2

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Entering that house, the first place we went through was the supernatural bathroom where we were washed by Jesus blood. Then, afterwards, we were given the robe of righteousness. As soon as we put on the robe, a sudden awareness hit us that our life has changed. Now you need to accept this truth from the Word of God: God will take care of you, if you will let Him. Check out what the Bible says about this. Romans 8: 32 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Since God gave us His only begotten Son, He will freely do anything else for us! In that house - in Christ - everything you will ever need and want have been provided. You just need to make a tour round the entire house for the discovery of the available things there. The tour guides are there also, the Holy Spirit and the Word (the Bible). The truth is that you will not automatically start enjoying the available

Jesus and You #1

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! This new Year 2010 I want us to take a closer look at this most popular verse in the Bible among Christians which speaks about the most popular person in history: John 3: 16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. All of us knew this verse from the time when we were young. We can just reel it out of our memory. Let's look at the word 'gave' in this verse. It means the Son of God was given as a gift for mankind in order to provide us salvation. But what motivated God to do this? We then look at an important word that came before 'gave' and it's the word 'loved' . What motivated God to give His Son was His love for us. Why is His love emphasised? Man had sinned against God and we were at an undeserving position where all we could look for was the judgement of God because of our sins, but for His love He chose to gr
