Lessons From The Books Of Chronicles 17

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! We are drawing today's lesson from King Jehosaphat of Judah: 2 Chronicles 17: 3-4 3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim; 4 But sought to the LORD God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel. I've said this before, a lot of Israel's kings were not godly, but were deep in idolatry. As long as their spiritual condition is like this things didn't go well with the people and their nation. But the case of Jehosaphat and few of Israel's past kings was different. They were godly kings and this caused good things to happen to their people. What did King Jehosaphat do? 2 Chronicles 17: 5-6 5 Therefore the LORD stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance. 6 And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: moreover he took away the high

Extra-ordinary Love of God

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! The most popular verse in the Bible is John 3: 16 and yet it contains some truths that can revolutionize your life if you believe it: John 3: 16 16 For God so LOVED the world, that he GAVE his only begotten SON, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. There are three words highlighted in our text above, and they are, LOVE, GAVE and SON. It was because of His love for us that God gave up His Son, Jesus, for us. It's not that He loved Jesus less than He loves us. God knew that He was sowing a seed for many children as a result of Jesus sacrifice. The giving of Jesus is like giving a person a completely built house that has everything one will ever need provided with it. He is the Father's gift to us that has other gifts within. Jesus brought with Him salvation, healing, deliverance, prosperity and many other goodies as gifts to be recieved by us freely. Romans 8: 32 32 He that spared not his own Son, but del

The Crux of Christmas

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Jesus came to this world on assignment. Just before the time when He was born, a prophetic Word of His assignment came forth: Luke 1: 74-75 74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. From God's perspective, mankind is the reason for the Christmas season. From our perspective Jesus is the season's reason, but not necessarily for us to be partying around in celebration, but for us to repent from our sins and turn back to God in order to serve Him without fear for the rest of our days. Through the gift of His Son, God has done all that is necessary to give us real life, and now it's up to us to discover how to bring those things into reality in our lives. (What are you doing about this?) Buying clothes, killing birds, animals and cooking rice and having a party is not a proper way to mark either Chri

Christmas Reality

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! John 3: 16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. When the Father God gave us His Son, a baby was conceived in the womb of Mary. She gave birth to God's Son - the only begotten Son of the Almighty God. At His resurrection He became the first begotten from the dead, so that in sequence there will be the second, third, fourth, fifth born and many other children of God born by the Spirit of God in the new birth. Pls don't ask me who the second born was. I don't know. But I think all of God's children by now should be like 5billion from over the last 2000 years. (That was just what I think). Jesus was the only One who had God as His Father. Now by our faith in the Son of God, we too are the children of the Almighty God. God is now our Father. I was so moved by the words Jesus spoke to Mary after His resurrection, "Jesus saith unt

Merry Christmas to you.

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Jesus conception in the womb of virgin Mary was for a reason. (Although after His birth, she did not maintain her virginity. She had sexual relations with her husband Joseph, and had other male and female children for him). His childhood till His adulthood, the things Jesus suffered until His death on the cross at Calvary, His burial, resurrection, ascension and glorification on the right hand side of the Father were for a reason - YOU. He went through everything just because of you: 1. That your sins may be forgiven, so that you will have peace with God. 2. That you may be delivered from the power and oppression of the devil. 3. That you may be healed of all sicknesses and diseases. 4. That you may have His righteousness in exchange for your sins. 5. That you may have His riches in exchange for your poverty. 6. That you may have His life in exchange for your judgement and death. 7. That you too may become a child of God like He is with all divine pri

Lessons From The Books Of Chronicles 16

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! I wish you a Merry Christmas and a most fulfilling new year 2010. The Holy Ghost Miracle Service will take place on Tuesday 29th of December at St. Annes Church, Molete, Ibadan from 5pm till around 8.30pm. If you can make it, you will be blessed. Todays lesson is about King Jehosaphat of Judah, and King Ahab of Israel. Jehosaphat had a close relationship with God, but Ahab didn't. Ahab had his prophets and God had one. King Jehosaphat will only look out for a prophet of the Lord. 2 Chronicles 18: 11 11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. This 'prophetic word from the Lord' was spoken by Ahab's prophets. But, bless God, God's prophet had another Word for the backslidden king: 2 Chronicles 18: 16 16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master

Lessons From The Books Of Chronicles 15

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Sometimes when a new leader gets into position of authority, he would get there with his own agenda. Sometimes it's an agenda to embezzle money and many other evil plans. But few times we've found leaders whose agenda is establish what is right, changing the tide and direction of their nation. Such is the new king of Israel, Asa: 2 Chronicles 14: 1-2 1 So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years. 2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God: 3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves: 4 And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment. When a nation experience continual peace for a long enough time there will be development in every area. Such was the experience the acts of King

Lessons From The Books Of Chronicles 14

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Even though we have taught people that the simplest way to identify how God speaks to them and guides them is through the inward witness of their hearts, it is important to know that just because you have something strong in your heart that you really want to do for God does not mean He wants you to do it. It's actually good for you to ask God about it. He might have a different plan. 2 Chronicles 6: 7-9 7 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 8 But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart: 9 Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name. This lesson is applicable to many areas of life, and it's good for one to be aware of it. It is important to ascertain the will of God about a lot of th

Lessons From The Books Of Chronicles 13

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! The Queen of Sheba visited with King Solomon, and after observing all that went on in his kingdom, among other things, she said, "Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom" (2 Chronicles 9:7). These stood out to her in the midst of so much wealth. We know a lot of stupendously rich people with a lot of disgruntled servants. What this mean is that these rich people do not care for those that are serving them. Sadly, these same things are seeing with some Christians, and even some men of God. They don't care for their staff members. Recently, I visited with one of my partners and he told me what he saw at the Kenneth Copeland Ministries ; staff members recieved first-class treatment from their boss and the ministry so much so a security guard said, 'No one wants to leave here.' I don't know any servant that would desire to leave a place where he's servi

Lessons From The Books Of Chronicles 12

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! An heathen king decided to attack and conquer Israel which was under the rule of King Hezekiah who had stopped his people from idol worship and turned them back to the worship of the true God. The enemy knew this and said this: 2 Chronicles 32: 17 17 He wrote also letters to rail on the LORD God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand. Hezekiah got ready for the battle and said to his people: 2 Chronicles 32: 7-8 7 Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: 8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. It's great to have a leader that kn

Lessons From The Books Of Chronicles 11b

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! While his mentor was alive, King Jo'ash carried out some remarkable projects, especially the project of the tabernacle of witness. The Bible says: 2 Chronicles 24: 4 4 ... Jo'ash was minded to repair the house of the LORD. Through his leaders, the priests and some other men, they collected money from the people and got the temple that the evil empress, Athaliah destroyed, rebuilt and put back into proper shape. Those who couldn't get to him when the priest, his mentor, Jehoiada was alive, were able to get to him after his death, and they led him astray. The Bible then say about him: 2 Chronicles 24: 22 22 Thus Jo'ash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and require it. As great and as precious as the priest's influence was on King Jo'ash, Jo'ash never learnt to serve God on his own, and it cost him dearly. Learn

Lessons From The Books Of Chronicles 11a

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! We're looking at Jo'ash a king of Israel today. The Bible says about him: 2 Chronicles 24: 1-2 1 Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Zibiah of Beer-sheba. 2 And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest. There was a priest called Jehoiada who was a godly influence on King Jo'ash which made him to do what God considered to be right for many years of his reign as the king of Israel. Not many of our leaders have this kind of influence on anyone. But that's a discussion for another day. Jo'ash led well for as long as the man of God was alive. The presence and influence of the priest kept him on an even keel. But for how long? We'll find out in the next posting. God bless.

Lessons From The Book Of Chronicles 10

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! May God give us leaders that will execute judgement and justice. Did I hear you say, 'Amen!' I do hope you did. One of the key factors that made Denmark the least corrupt nation in the world is because of the kind of people they've had as their leaders. It's not that they don't have corruption in their system, but compared with all other nations their level of corruption is the least. What caught my attention on this issue is what the Bible says about the second king of Israel, King David: 1 Chronicles 18: 14 14 So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people. From both observation and experience, I've learnt that laws have to be enforced with true justice for us to have any kind of development in this corrupt and chaotic world. People shouldn't be without restraint. Imagine that, the least corrupt country in the world still have a bit of corruption in it. So what is corruption? Th

Lessons From The Book Of Chronicles 9

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Shalom! Something led to the visitation that Solomon had from God. He had learnt some things from his father, King David, which worked for him at this time in particular. Let's take a look at the things: 2 Chronicles 1: 6-7 6 And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it. 7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. Solomon did what no other king of Israel had ever done and recieved a visitation of God that transformed his life. The tabernacle which he built was according to will of God which was revealed to his father, King David, that his son, Solomon would build it. With utmost zeal and dedication he got it built. He also had some virtues working for him: 1. He had reverence for God. 2. He had learnt to give God full devotion. 3. He went beyond the conventional way to worship God. He offered
