The Bible Effect #2

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola The Bible says, "Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city" (Acts 8:5-8). The key to seeing rapid growth in a church and in any ministry is when the people experiences God's blessings in their lives. But when this is under-played, there will be little or no growth in such a place. When the Word of God is preached or taught, people ought to be edified, and built up. The ministry of the Word should bring about healing and liberty to the people. My question is: When such things are not happening, what have you been preaching or teaching? God always confirm His Word with signs following. Check this out,

Be Careful

A friend of mine sent this clip as email to me. Please go through it. Thank you.   A stock clerk was sent to clean up a storeroom in a Port of Spain factory just recently. When he got back, he was complaining that the storeroom was really filthy and that he had noticed dried mouse or rat droppings in some areas. A couple of days later, he started to feel like he was coming down with stomach flu , complained of sore joints and headaches, and began to vomit. He went to bed and never really got up again. Within two days he was severely ill and weak. His blood sugar count was down to 66, and his face and eyeballs were yellow. He was rushed to the emergency at Mount Hope where he was diagnosed to be suffering from massive organ failure. He died shortly before midnight. No one would have made the connection between his job and his death, had it not been for a doctor who specifically asked if he had been in a warehouse or exposed to dried rat or mouse droppings at any time. They said th

The Bible Effect #1

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola Paul said, "And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God" (1 Corinthians 2:4-5). Man or woman of God, is what you're preaching or teaching good enough to positively affect peoples' lives? Can people be led to the place of salvation hearing your message, can the sick get healed listening to you, can people be truly blessed or be affected in such a way that will cause them to make godly and wise decisions in their lives? What are you ministering to people, God's Word or yours? Jesus ministry had this effect, the apostles Paul, Peter, James and John's ministries had all these effects. Till next posting, God bless.

The Bible #3

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola THE BIBLE is the Word of God. God speaks to us through it. You need to understand that there is a difference between the spoken Word and Jesus, the Living Word. They are not one and the same. Jesus said, "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:" (Matthew 7:24). Notice that Jesus emphasised the importance of the things He said in the above passage. We are not expected to build our lives on Jesus, but on the Words He spoke - His teachings. When He was praying for us He said to the Father, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" (John 17:17). He didn't ask God to use Him, the person, to sanctify us. He asked God to use His Word to do it. The Word of God is the will of God. It is what God wants done. It is what He requires of us. Whatever He said are those things He has thought of, with the intention of doing. The Bible says, &quo

The Bible #2

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola The Bible says, "But he (Jesus) answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4). Notice that Jesus said that Man shall live by every Word that comes out of God's mouth. In the Bible, there are records of different times when God spoke directly and when He spoke through His servants, the prophets, and angels. The Bible adds: "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, ..." (Hebrews 1:1-2). God also spoke by the Holy Spirit (Acts 13:1-2). God spoke then, and He's still speaking today through the various means aforementioned. These are the areas you are to search for when you're studying the Bible - where God spoke. God also speaks through the lessons learnt from the stories in the Bible. The most important person you need to listen

The Bible #1

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola The Christian who studies the Bible regularly is the one who experiences transformation in his life as the Bible declares in Romans 12:1-2. We get exposed to the thoughts of God which are expressed all through the Bible. The thoughts are like hidden codes that gets passed to us as we study. A time will come when we will be shocked at our knowledge of God. Through many years of Bible reading and study, I learnt that it's not only God who spoke in the Bible. Everyone spoke in there: God spoke, man spoke, angels spoke, the devil and demons spoke, and animals spoke. Even nature spoke at different times in there. For this very reason, it is important that as we go through the Bible we should be able to differentiate between the speakers to know when actually God spoke, and when it's someone or something else. There are several occasions when some people simply expressed their personal opinions. Among those who spoke, you will find the godly, the ungodly, t

Marks of a Committed Christian #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola The first and most important committement of the committed Christian is to his Lord, Jesus Christ - not to a church or a pastor, to Jesus. This means that whatever Jesus says is more important to him than whatever anyone else has to say. If what his pastor says to do is contrary to what Jesus says by His Spirit and His Word, he will follow Jesus other than whatever his pastor said. I am in no way encouraging rebellion, but if necessary, a Christian should disregard anything that is contrary to what Jesus said. Jesus said, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:8). Jesus has commanded us: "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). These are the words of Jesus to us all, not to a selected few, all of us Christia

Whatever Happened To Personal Evangelism

Dear Friend, Good day to you. I wish to pass on to you today a message I have had in my inbox for almost 3years now as a kind of reminder to our purpose as the body of Christ. It is an article by Lee Grady, the editor of Charisma Magazine . Please read. God bless. -Revd 'Remi Tejumola   Whatever Happened to Personal Evangelism? We are not anointed by the Holy Spirit simply to have visions or feel spiritual goose bumps. It's time for us to re-embrace soul-winning.   My heart sank two weeks ago when I heard that Dr. D. James Kennedy had died at age 76 of complications from an earlier heart attack. Knowing that Jerry Falwell died in May, and considering that Billy Graham is not in good health, I wondered who could possibly replace these stalwart Christian statesmen.   The congenial Kennedy, who usually wore an austere clerical robe when he preached on his popular television broadcast, founded Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale 48 years ago. Yet his fo
