The Bible Effect #7

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola The Bible records, "And, behold, one came and said unto him [Jesus], Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?" (Matthew 19:16). As ministers of the Gospel we need to minister with the consciousness that our audience consist of people with a lot of questions that needed answers. I have found out that when we minister the Word the way God said and meant it, we answer those questions. People become liberated when their questions are answered. Sometimes people get healed. Some of the lessons we learnt from Jesus came about because of the questions that people asked Him. Would it not be a wonderful thing, getting to church with a burning question in your heart, and while the ministry of the Word was going on, suddenly the pastor said something that answered the question? It is as good and as powerful as when a miracle takes place, at least to the person concerned. I recieved a designer greeting card from a sister several y

The Bible Effect #6

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola The Bible says, "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost , according to his own will?" (Hebrews 2:3-4). God confirms and bears witness to His Word (the Gospel). The supernatural must be seen both in the church and out there in the evangelistic field. In some churches the supernatural only happen in the pastor's office. A number of years ago, a minister was going to minister to someone in private. God told him, "I want My ministry done in the open. I want the people to see My power." I know from experience how it feels when people get baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues publicly in church. It is awe-inspiring. It affects people who witnessed it positively and powerfully

The Bible Effect #5

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola The Bible says, "And he [Jesus] said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover" (Mark 16:15-18). When the Gospel is preached, the signs will follow. Notice these were Jesus words as He gave us the great commission. In the same chapter the Gospel is referred to as the Word: "And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen" (Mark 16:20). The Holy Spirit works with those who preach the Gospel (the Word). And He does it with signs which includes, deliverance, Holy Spirit bapt

The Bible Effect #4

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola The Bible says about Jesus, "And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea" (Matthew 14:25). Let me describe what Jesus did here by faith: He walked on the solid ground of the mountain, made tracks on the seashore, and walked on water like He did on the rock. If you checked His feet, they were wet because He walked on water. The walk on the sea was as a result of Jesus' faith. The withered fig tree was also a result of His faith. The Word in these two instances were not the miracles, but the things Jesus said afterwards. The Word were the keys or principles that led to those miracles which Jesus taught His disciples at different times in the Gospels. The basic key is faith in God (Mark 11:22). Jesus had it, and exercised it to the fullest. He said, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth" (Mark 9:23). If you give much thought to this verse, it would change your life. A num

The Bible Effect #3

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola The Bible says about Phillip, "Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them" (Acts 8:5). The resultant effect of Phillip preaching Christ was that people's lives were affected and impacted by the power of God. What is the essence of your message to God's people, dear man or woman of God? You may not be preaching about the person Jesus, but every topic you preach and teach should be from His heart. Let's see it this way: when you preach or teach the Word the way God said it, and the way He meant it, you are preaching or teaching Christ. Anything else you do beside this is not preaching or teaching Christ, it is heretic. Once you're not preaching Christ, people can't have faith in Him, and so He'll do nothing for them. If your interpretation of a passage or verse of scripture is not what God actually said and meant, then it's wrong - no matter how profound it sounds. The Word of God must be d

No Promise, No Faith

By Revd 'Remi Tejumola The Word God spoke is the only thing that He is responsible to confirm. He will not and cannot be held responsible for what He has not spoken or promised anyone. Faith can only be based on a given promise. It is when you believe and act according to the requirements of that promise that you are actually in faith, which then will bring the expected results into manifestation. With this in mind, you will realise that, 'No promise, no faith'. There are no 'ifs' or 'buts' about this. Many times when people claim to have faith, it is not based on the Word of God. It's usually based on nothingness, hope and assumptions. They just have 'faith'. Nothing but frustration will result from this kind of faith. The Bible says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). God must have promised you something before you can exercise faith in Him. You must have utterlly believed what He said i
